:handclap:Congratulations guys. You had a tremendous run. Not many teams get to experience a stanley cup final. And you guys played really really well. A few breaks in game 1 and 2 and this series would be different. Anyways, cheers to you great year. :handclap:

It's the kinds of nitpicky posts that really get to me. It's very easy to elevate a shot while sitting on your couch.

It's not the Nash shot even, but how many times to people post something like "you gotta get that puck elevated!" The majority of the time when the player is 2 feet from the net in a mad scramble to get to a rebound. It's just not that simple.

He could have done one of two things: shot it harder, shot it higher. He did neither. I don't think that's too much too ask for our premier offensive player with a half empty net.

Can blame the missed/Bogus calls all night long but in the end.. that is not why the Rangers lost.

Power Play
Give aways
Stars not showing up - Girardi, Richards, Nash, St. Louis - they all must be better than this.

Those are the reasons. Not the refs.

I agree 100% but it's not just the stars, Pouliot and his stupid penalties, Brassard and even Zucc not burying chances, Staal was worse in the finals than I 'd ever seen him.

I'll be back when we're done with the weak excuses. We lost to a better team. We gave it our all. There is no shame in this.

Weak? Really? It got deflected. There's something called physics.

It was a great shot that was on target until it was deflected. Blaming Nash for anything there is cringe-worthy.

So you're insinuating the shot was hard and fast?

It's hilarious that anyone would blame Nash on that chance to begin with. It was a perfect shot that was miraculously deflected. These things happen.

They do, but when you score 3 goals in 25 playoff games, people aren't going to give you the benefit of the doubt.

Man. I wish some people gave Lundqvist this kinda reaction after he would give up 2 goals in a 2-1 loss.

People give Nash this huge leash for failure, but Lundqvist get's crucified time and time again.

I'm happy that the Rangers got this far. I also think we were clearly the worst team to make the Stanley Cup Finals post lock out. The Kings are in a tier above us, and I'm not sure we beat any of the teams they beat outside of Anaheim (with their goaltending issues).

Lundqvist is a super star, and he proved it by keeping this team in two games they had absolutely not business even being in.

This team needs to start expecting more from their super stars. For some reason, Lundqvist and McDonagh are the only two with a real set of expectations.

Nash and Richards won't live up to their contracts? Trade them / buy them out. Get two players for $14.4M that will perform. Toews and Kane are making less money than these guys. If you subbed Toews/Kane with Richards/Nash, and still got the same performances from Lundqvist/McDonagh, they might be raising the Stanley Cup right now.

Girardi played the worst hockey of his life (which is bad news considering the significant extension we gave him). Staal was pitiful over the last two series (which is concerning).

Bring in studs with that money from buying out Richards and trading Nash, that can actually be game breakers. Tired of one or two players carrying this overachieving team every season (this season was Lundqvist/McDonagh willing them to levels they never should have reached).

I’m proud of this team. They gave me so many great moments this season. This is why I love Hockey. I also Hate Hockey. When 2 teams play their guts out and games are decided by a Kazari or an O’Halloran, You can’t say in words how much you hate them. After that call on Zuc, I couldn’t enjoy the rest of the game. We benefited from his incompetence when Kazari decides to make a call from center ice on Moore and we scored on the shorthanded goal. Moore was tripped but he decides to call a penalty on Moore from center ice. You would have to have replays on every call, except that then Toronto would blow it.
Thanks Rangers. Be proud.

Rangers are gonna be on the decline. I can feel it in my bones.

Girardi is declining fast. Probably gonna lose Stralman. Might lose Boyle. Might lose D. Moore.

Still need a 1C.

No prospects on the way to fill the wholes they will create. No 1st round picks in 3 straight drafts.

If Rangers don't win in the next 2-3 years, it could be a LOOOOOOONNNNGGG time to we are back here.

Ryan McDonagh had 17 points in his last 15 games, including I think 4 in 6 games in the SC Final. The guy is going to be a top 5 defenseman next season easily.

Pretty hard to take when a part of you thinks the league wanted this outcome and did what they could to get it.

I don't buy pure incompetence or inconsistency.

Not for nothing, the Kings were offside at least 10 times tonight and it wasn't called. Every single time a play can be whistled as an icing against the Rangers it was called. The Kings iced the puck three or four times and it was waved off.

That hybrid icing rule is just another way that the league can screw somebody.

When we played Philly, some here said the league wanted Philly to win. Same for Pitt, Mont, and L.A.

It gets old.

Why does the league want the Rangers to lose every round?

So now that I've calmed down a little, Rick Nash still needs to go. And Dan Girardi will not be able to play in this league for 5 more years. That contract looks bad now.

Hank was great in the finals. Still better than Quick.

Lets all not forget Carcillo...he played WAY above his shoulders ever since coming to this team...I wish all our players had a heart like his...Honestly we could have lost in the first round if it wasn't for him. I also think he played a role in turning this teams confidence around in the regular season. I would love to have him back if he plays like he did this year. He had some HUGE goals for a semi-goon/pest and he's ALWAYS dangerous against former teams....which is a lot of teams :)

Don't you think BEttman is part of the main problem, what we're seeing right now? lol. His time is up as a commissioner.

Oh absolutely agree. Bettman is the problem. He is thin skinned. But for now he is the commissioner and there is no talk about replacing him. The owners are happy because he is making them money. But that money is at the expense of the product. The owners are all about percentages and if you drop that percentage for the sake of better officials the corporate boards will balk. Bettman puts profits for the owners ahead of what's best for the sport.

He could have done one of two things: shot it harder, shot it higher. He did neither. I don't think that's too much too ask for our premier offensive player with a half empty net.

If he shot it higher, he risks missing the net entirely. If he shot it harder, it gets deflected still and goes above the net still.

You're asking for him to do something that is basically impossible on a one-timer. You can only do so much with the puck on a one-time shot. It's why so many of them are off target to begin with (since you are at the mercy of physics).

Placing any amount of blame on him there is just ridiculous. The equivalent of someone blaming Hank for the OT goal against.

Yup, say......20 years.

Not for nothing but this biggest thing that bothers me is that the 94 lovefest will continue. I loved that year, and it was supremely memorable but Im so tired of hearing about it now. A win this year would have put it to rest finally.
