No, it’s really not decided by each series. There is a certain expectation of playoff hockey that involves, at the very least, mere above-average defense and above-average goaltending, as long as you have a potent offense. The Flames and Oilers have neither. I’m a fan of a team that played playoff hockey for 25 straight years, longer than many posters on this board have been alive, and I witnessed all of it and more. As entertaining as that series was, it was an affront to playoff hockey. The standard for Western Conference excellence is in the toilet this year. The best Western Conference teams finished their series tonight. But even still, I’ve never seen such bad goaltending make it to the WCF.Each match-up is set by the two teams playing the game. The concept of playoff hockey is literally set by the teams playing in the playoffs and the match-ups that arise. Stylistically, this can change at any time. This isn't a new concept.
Friedman and Co are so giddy right now.
Let's see if McDavid has another gear. I can't wait
Probably but that's what we heard about Quick and Markstrom and that's been false so far.As bad as Kuemper was he's still miles better than Smith.
McDavid is the superior Irishman

No Edmonton fan should be talking about cringe. You guys cry if McDavid is so much as breathed on. Y’all would be traumatized to the point of institutionalization if McDavid had to put up with the clutch-and-grab conditions Crosby had to put up with in his early career. This is the cringiest post in the thread.
I'm a Las Vegas Golden Knights fanWe're talking about being a Stanley Cup favourite...
Still baffled at your overreaction.
You are right. This is now the cringiest post of the thread. No Edmonton fan should be talking about cringe. You guys cry if McDavid is so much as breathed on. Y’all would be traumatized to the point of institutionalization if McDavid had to put up with the clutch-and-grab conditions Crosby had to put up with in his early career.
Except, it literally is decided by each series. The Oilers are literally in the WCF. The precedent for playoff hockey is dictated every time two different teams meet. No, it’s really not decided by each series. Lol, way to make it evident that you don’t have a substantive response. You are right. This is now the cringiest post of the thread.
Cringe posts don’t require a response let alone a substantive one. Your lucky you even got one.Lol, way to make it evident that you don’t have a substantive response.
Now you're just strangely rambling. No Edmonton fan should be talking about cringe. You guys cry if McDavid is so much as breathed on. Y’all would be traumatized to the point of institutionalization if McDavid had to put up with the clutch-and-grab conditions Crosby had to put up with in his early career.
I think real bad feelings are spilling out of his unconscious at the thought of the Oilers in the WCF. I’m concerned. Now you're just strangely rambling.
Didn't think the Oilers had a prayer in the last round but here they are.
McDavid is going to ruin Makar's reputation.
