Hey brother,The 2019 love in the HFOil and HFAvs had is over.
It’s a destiny that we both knew we’d be the class of the West at one day and have an epic showdown.
Alas, here we are.
@Ginger Papa pump that shit straight into my veins. You know the meme.
Edmonton fans are obsessed with their WCF arrival after a team with an AHL defense took them to 7 games and then beating a paper tiger with the worst goaltending I’ve seen in my quarter decade of watching playoff hockey. Adjusting to a better team is an actual thing.Haven't heard this excuse before.
It certainly beats being the favourite and squandering it over and over again wouldn't you say?So for a total of one series you guys were the underdog and thrived in that role?
Good to hear. It was more the fact they are very good friends, that's allBarrie, surprisingly hasn’t been burned once these playoffs. Super solid. Has a new found focus on D and positioning.
I for one think you hit the nail on the head.Game seven, Oilers down 96-95 with 2 minutes to go in the third.
McDavid has 93 points, Draisatl has 91 and Kane has 96 goals.
Rantanen dumps the puck, it bounces off the boards to the face off dot. Mike Smith comes out to play it.
Kadri full speed runs into Mike Smith vaporizing him into dust. 5 minute major.
McDavid to Draisatl… 96-96 going into overtime.
Puljujarvi skates down the ice, accidangles Erik Johnson, Puljujarvi shoots, misses the net, bounces off the boards, hits Erik Johnson and goes into the net. 97-96 Oil.
Fans throw their 10$ Rogers slice of pizza, Pool Party picks one up off the ice and walks to the locker room.
Oilers go on to beat Tampa in 9.
The Flames started the series the 3rd best defensive team in the league. I personally don't get the desire to diminish that the Oilers played well enough to beat them, but I guess the frustration of finally making it past the 2nd round after all these attempts and finally at the same time as the Oilers must be blowing over?Edmonton fans are obsessed with their WCF arrival after a team with an AHL defense took them to 7 games and then beating a paper tiger with the worst goaltending I’ve seen in my quarter decade of watching playoff hockey. I’m a Wings fan. I don’t have a dog in this fight. But I’ve watched a ton of playoff hockey in my life and the Oilers-Flames series was literally the worst collective example of playoff hockey by two teams I’ve ever seen. The Flames were a paper tiger. That isn’t a new concept. The Flames started the series the 3rd best defensive team in the league. And yes, we're a hockey city. We love that we're in the WCF.
