Smith has been a lot better than Kuemper so far. He has had his blunders but he also is sporting an unreal 0.927 SV% and is a great puck handler to boot. Easily his best playoffs this decade.

Colorado leads the playoffs in most advanced stat metrics, it is likely they will outplay the Oilers 5 on 5 for much of the series. I really don’t trust Kuemper right now however, just feels like he is going to be the Avs kryptonite this year. If he gives .910 the Avs will probably win but I’m not sure he is going to do that

Another goalie for M David and Drain to exploit, but I think Makar and the Avs D is a notch above what the Oil have faced so far.

Counterpoint, the Oilers forwards with McDavid, Draisaitl, Kane, Hyman, and Nuge is a notch above what the Avs have faced so far.

It's coming down to the top lines. If Landeskog-MacKinnon-Rantanen can play even with the McDrai Kane line then Colorado will win the series.

Well Avs fans, let us take a moment to commune over a shared passion:

While I'll always fondly remember those carefree days when you were our fanbase's favourite team after that series in 2019, I fear this is where our friendship must end. This one could go down as one of the all-timer WCF series if both teams bring their 'A' game more often then not. Congrats on putting the second round demon to rest, and see you Tuesday!

The 2019 love in that HFOil and HFAvs had is over.

It’s a destiny that we both knew we’d be the class of the West one day and we would have an epic showdown at some point.

Alas, here we are.

@Ginger Papa pump that shit straight into my veins. You know the meme.

I see Makar being the difference maker in this series. Regardless though, as hockey fans you couldn't have asked for a more high powered match up, it's going to be exciting.

One benefit for Colorado is that Edmonton is going to have to adjust to playing a playoff-quality team after competing against a team that was putting on an ass clinic in that last series.

Congrats to the Avs for winning and getting over the hump!

I am going with EDM in 7. As a neutral fan COL should be the favourites here but I just hope if we win or lose it goes 7 games. A superstar matchup like this should be entertaining. Plus just hope our home fans can see some wins on this stage again.

Ultimately I think we match COL fine on forwards. Goaltending for both is shaky but granted if Mike Smith comes out we might edge out COL there. We don't have Makar though and the COL D-group should be be the better guys. Ultimately COL should take it but I think if Mike Smith plays well you never know.

I think Oilers Forwards are better, Avs Obviously gave the much better D, Goalie Smith has been better in the playoffs, Kemp in the reg season.

Edmonton in 2. McJesus will take advantage of Avs overrated D and set up Evander "vaccines are for pus****" Kane for consecutive hat tricks all series long. Mike "goals from the defensive zone shouldnt count" Smith will put up consecutive shutouts not allowing Compher or Helm to score anything more. this will be the start of Smiths run for the Conn Smythe.

Can't wait for MacK to burn Barrie for a couple goals this series, wonder if they are already talking shit to each other lol. Should be a ton of fun
Barrie, surprisingly hasn’t been burned once these playoffs. Super solid. Has a new found focus on D and positioning.
