But that's what I mean, it's their history but the facts of this season is that the Oilers are down 2-1 and lost two 1 goal games.
Maybe I’m not comprehending.

Are you using 1 goal losses as a positive metric for the oilers?

If you are… man. So many won goal loss teams out of the playoffs

McDavid puts up 2 points and still ends up a minus, on the ice for 3 of 5 Dallas goals (yes one was an ENG). Literally just flying the zone every opportunity he can on the first Robertson goal, tries covering Robertson who scores.

Draisaitl with the giveaway on the game winner.

These aren't guys you win chips with.
About the same as last season against Vegas when Leon had one huge game but then disappeared, and McDavid gave up about as much as he got.

But something something generational something.

We only look at save percentages one period at a time now to determine how he’s doing??

Odd. I look at the whole body of work.

.923
Odd, we’re discussing his play last night. Not one period or his whole body of work. He had a .900 save percentage in the game. At best an average game. Not bad but not great. He certainly didn’t steal the game. He can play much better.

You implied we're talking about more than one game when you said "he's not playing lights out."

I'm sticking with my original prediction of Dallas in 7. Series has been 3 very close games.

Edmonton has had the lead for 58 mins through 3 games.
Dallas has had the lead for 35 mins through 3 games.

Make no mistake Skinner was terrible on that 3rd Robertson goal. If possible Nurse was even worse. WTH was he doing there? Regardless if McDavid scores that goal the absolute orgasmic gushing by Oiler fans would be nauseating. So bag on Skinner, fine, but give Robertson the respect he deserves. Most of the NHL would try and fail if they attempted that.

I'm seeing most Edmonton fans in this thread coming at this from the "we're beating ourselves" angle. It really is downplaying what the opposition is doing to them, and how they are making them make mistakes. Also, the mental strength is clearly stronger with one team.

The series isn't over at all. Oil could still win. But admitting that you are getting beaten by a team that went to last year's WCF is ok.

They probably don't want to leave Robertson all alone 5 ft from Skinner. Just a thought.

My main beef with the Oil fanbase. They cannot give any team credit. They lost because it was 1. Refs. 2. Bettman 3. We are Injured. 4. They beat themselves and other team is just lucky.

Perfectly said.

If Dallas wins, look back to period one of game two. Tie game. Edmonton was curbstomping Dallas. They weren't able to break the game open. And Dallas woke up for the rest of the game.

Edmonton needs McDrai, depth, D, and goaltending to be great to win. Dallas needs maybe one of those things to win this series.

Edmonton isn't helping themselves by consistently putting guys like Ceci & MacLeod out on the ice either. It's not their fault they are terrible. But the HC should know better.
Play offs .... Nurse has a team worst minus - 12 ( on a Team full.of plus players.
At 9.5 a year ...... borders on criminal
