Lou to Toronto for Khadri, Komisarek. Vancouver pays a million a year of Lou's salary. If Khadri plays 60 nhl games in any one year of next 5 then Leafs also get a third round pick.....

I like it. We get a #1 goalie, and hold onto Nazem Kadri.

I'll miss that Khadri guy, though I must admit, I don't know much about him.

Any chance Vancouver would be interested in Phaneuf, straight up? That I'd do. Doubt Vancouver would. Be nice to jettison this pretender captain.

Well if there was anytime phaneufs future is in question in Toronto, it definitely is now.

I wouldn't trade him for Lou, but I would include him in a deal for younger player, such as subban.

Gillis:
Hey Brian you piece of **** - we want Gardner/Kadri and a 1st

Brian:
Ok Mike let me run it by the BOG's ...

Nonis:
Hey Mike we'll offer Bozak+Lombardi

Gillis:
Sounds resonable - can you throw in a first?

Nonis:
Well entertain Carter Ashton ...

Gillis:
Done

If Leafs trade anything for Lou they dumb.

Since the new buyout option I've been thinking the Leafs and Panthers best move would be to stick Vancouver with him and let them buy him out summer of 2013, if they wish. It's a short season with a good draft set for 2013. Why not wait and see if you can just give up money for Lou and have him on a better contract, to boot? Its 100% the Canucks buy him out if he's not traded. No way they want that contract to the end of time.

If it were up to me I wouldnt even consider trading komisarek for luongo straight up.
The luongo contract is an immediate pair of cement boots for the franchise.
And the fact that it would be a 10 plus year albatross. No way

If they trade kadri or any of biggs, reilly, ross, frattin or percy they are nuts.
If they trade gardiner half the fans will walk away

Despite some denials, the tweet earlier from @EnricoCiccone is accurate. The Flyers are interested in Roberto Luongo.

:naughty:

But would Lou waive his NTC to go there and be a part of one of the NHL's other longest running circuses?

This leak could also be coming from van to drive up the price... or even philly to drive up the price on us and reduce inter-conference competition.

Or it could be true. I just hope this is not the team we have going into the season.

Have bryz and luongo, then buyout bryz at the end of the year, makes sense 2bh.

No. They're pretty good about asset management. Doubt any of Couturier, Schenn, or Voracek will be offered. Doesn't mean Vancouver, and they're outlandish fans, won't ask though.

Yeah just looked at hockeys future top systems and the flyers are dead last... don't even have someone the equivalent of an ashton. We can most certainly offer a better package if we so choose.

More confirmation on Prime Time Sports tonight Bob Mcowan said that he new for sure that Vancouver has been insisting on getting Jake Gardiner & Nazem Kadri for Roberto Luongo and that Burke did Not want to do it but ownership was insisting that he make the trade.

Honestly I dont think the majority of Leafs fans realize how good Luongo really is. HE IS A HOT AND COLD GOALIE, but when he is on his game which he is a majority of the time he is incredibly good, nearly unbeatable.

Nobody seems to realize this because when Luongo fails, he really fails. Like 6/7 goals. This becomes well known information and therefore Luongo is deemed as mediocre.

If Luongo plays to his potential, a pace at what he is very capable of playing, he will vault the Leafs into a comfortable playoff spot.

In 2006/07 the Canucks played a defense first system, it made sense considering their offense was non existent. This is how I see the leafs at this time, their defense is good last time I checked, and in this condition Luongo THRIVES.

And by thriving I don't just mean regular season, he WAS the canucks in the post season as well. 70+ shots in the Dallas game, honestly it's amazing how much of a short memory people have.

He has had 3 bad series, Chicago 2x, and some games of the boston series, IN WHICH HE HAD 2 SHUTOUTS. He played insane in the Dallas, Anaheim series.

The rest were when the Canucks adopted a run and gun system and relied on Luongo to hold the back end down. Most people don't realize that Luongo was our defense as well as the goaltender.

PS the people that think the Canucks defense is top 5. Its not, its masked by Luongo and Schneider.

Also one more concern people seem to have with Luongo is that he is being replaced by Schneider. The thing is Luongo faces too much scrutiny in Vancouver and with a young goalie who is almost hitting his peak, it would be best for Luongo to move on.

Luongo has been top 3 in vezina 3 times.
He is a Hart trophy finalist and lester B pearson.
He is easily top 3 goalie since the lockout, and if you watched the canucks the first year he was here you would agree.

Leafs fan should be incredibly excited if Luongo makes it to Toronto. Remember the Canucks are not trading Luongo because he is a mediocre goalie but because when you have two elite goalies, standards dictate that one must leave.

EDIT: ALSO REMEMBER THE PEOPLE THAT SAY THAT LUONGO FAILS IN THE PLAYOFFS DONT REALIZE THAT THE CANUCKS HAVE LOST TO THE STANLEY CUP CHAMPS 4 TIMES IN THE PAST 6 years. THOSE TEAMS WERE NO SCRUBS. THE LAST THREE TIMES WERE THE STANLEY CUP WINNERS.

Also ask yourself this, Gardinier alone can not get the Leafs into the playoffs, and I'm willing to bet that even the most bitter leafs fan would agree that Luongo has a much higher chance of vaulting the Leafs into the playoffs.

Unbelievable if true.

Unfortunately, bob the knob is not confirmation on anything.

So the Flyers want to trade for Lou and have the most expensive goalies in the history of the NHL. What, like 14 million in cap space on goalies alone and owe them both like 200 million in cash.
And people think the Leafs are dysfunctional?
