There was a time where they had to wait for the first day of classes to have their first official practice in the AUS. Not sure when it changed. This year?

I was thinking the same thing last week when I saw the Xwitter post from UNB Hockey. I always thought it was after Labour Day.

Some pros filling out the rosters (Smallman, Critchlow , MacDougall) .
Xzander Pierce and Slava Melikov from the Fredericton Red Wings were on the ice.
The only face I didn’t recognize was whoever was wearing the Calgary Wranglers helmet , been looking at past rosters and couldn’t pick him out. I assumed it was a pro from the area but who knows , Gardiner was running the clock and playing announcer so didn’t have a chance to ask him . I’m going to go to the rink Monday and see who’s on the ice when we don’t have a bunch of non UNB guys skating.

The Wranglers guy could have been Clark Bishop. He has friends in Fredericton.

Pretty sure it’s Jared Cosman .Anyone here able to ID this guy? Might just be someone skating with the team (every year you will see random guys on the ice with them during training camp who aren’t recruits).
He wasn’t on the ice during the inter squad game.

Would make sense, they’ve lost Hall ,MacDougall ,Carroll and McQuaid.
Kammerer is essentially an addition, Kyte , McGinley, so one more dman would bring them to where they were a year ago.
Can't confirm whether that's Cosman or not from the UNB practice photo, but he's now at the Acadie-Bathurst training camp

Halley might seem like a weak choice but he is the most clutch player I can ever think of at UNB. 1st in playoff goals , 7th in playoff points,1st in national goals and 2nd in national points

The goaltending might be the most interesting debate to me….I think you can make an argument for any of Fullerton/LaCosta/Marcoux/Dubeau/Parenteau

Goaltending is up in the air as well. It's gotta be Dubeau for me though because of how he rebounded from SF loss in 2018 to win it all in 2019.
Couple of thoughts on the others...nothing more can be said about Maillet that hasn't already been written. Bennett is the guy who checks all of the boxes and I think is someone who Gards dreams up in the lab for his perfect type of player. Braes has gotta be there too...3-time champion, 4 goals in his final game, c'mon! Recap headline also had to be one of the all-time greats as well: Braes for impact!
I'm not sure if Anderson and/or McIver will appear on too many lists but they do on mine. Both were rock solid and mainstays in the program for 5 years. I'm also selfishly including because of what could've been in 2020. Both had a very good shot at becoming 4-time champions IMO
