I think just those 2. Acadia goalie Braydon Peters is at Avalanche rookie camp. Good to see AUS guys go to these camps and get some exposure.

I thought I saw Ben Allison and Ben Boyd (is he still at SMU?) on rosters as well.

Flash: Just confirmed that Allison is at San Jose camp but will be at SMU.
Uberti is at Detroit, Roger at Columbus and Boyd at Arizona.

The UNB game vs UPEI has been cancelled.

I thought it was interesting that the UPEI tweet announcing the cancellation specifically mentioned that it was cancelled “by UNB”.

I guess they wanted to clarify that they didn't cancel. "Don't blame us, we don't have to cross the bridge at 10:30 pm Friday night in a possible storm."

I’m guessing he meant UPEI…they are scheduled to play Moncton in Lameque.

Could also be cancelled, who knows... We're playing it by ear right now, but obviously UPEI has the last say in this they are the ones having to deal with the bridge, and if it's closed it's closed and we're not going to have them cross in fishing boats lol

I recall one winter we played in PEI and the bridge was closed to the bus, so a bunch of locals in pickup trucks and vans came over to get us. I was in a truck that had most of the floor gone on the passeenger side. We get to the rink, play our game and then get Swiss Chalet delivered for the bus ride hime. But first, back in the trucks and stuff to get to the bus. By a fluke, I ended up in the same truck (or all the trucks on the Island have no floors) with a couple of boxes of chicken dinners.
By the time we got to the NB side and loaded the bus, the chicken was stone cold.

This post made me miss hockey road trips back in midget . The “worst” trips are always the best memories looking back

Off topic but I wish that game at Willie O’Ree was at the LBR , I miss seeing CIS hockey in that old rink. Women are at the AUC that night.

Not a big fan of watching games in all these new community “cookie cutter” rinks.

If you are a fan of pucks out of play and people complaining about a lack of parking, yes...the old LBR would be a rousing success.

I’ve always been a fan of old dumpy rinks. With a crowd I always loved the Halifax Forum, i remember being in Halifax for the SEDMHA tournament while the world curling championship was at the Metro Centre and the Mooseheads were playing playoff games at the Forum and when that place is rocking it’s awesome .

I recall one game there and we had a rookie D-man and no one told him about the Wall. STU dumps the puck in his corner and he goes to play it and gets absolutely Crushed. He looked like Wile Coyote when he slid down the Wall to the ice.

I've seen more than one guy do the Wile Coyote slide down that wall...

I too am a fan of rinks with character to them. My introduction to AUAA road games was at the LBR, quite the rude awakening for a 12 year old in 1998... that was back in the days when that place was rocking and Rum Row was more than just a memory of the past.

Also lucky enough to be at the last men's and women's hockey game at the LBR, and that same atmostphere of days gone by was there, it was something to see and I had a smile the whole time there.

Do you guys remember the November.25 2011 game at the LBR. Was the last great “battle of the hill” in that rink.
UNB scored 4 short handed goals in a comeback win, John Harty played probably the greatest period and a half of hockey I’ve seen out of UNB player in a long time.

We kinda need to get down these rabbit holes more often lol. We all have an extremely niche interest we share , it’s nice to have people to discuss it with !

We almost need like a “general bullshit” thread to not steal threads but be able to talk about whatever OT stuff we want .
