f*** I wish Atkinson wasn't here. He's basically the sole possible reason that Foerster won't be up this year (Atkinson, Konecny, Tippett). You're not putting him on the 4th line.

Foerster/Brink I think should be getting a long look on the NHL roster no matter what. I wish Atkinson was out of the picture. Or even that they had the nuts to just run out some talent on the 4th line and NOT have both Hathaway and Deslauriers (throw away Nic D).

Too many RWs, not enough anything else.

I think they’re showing their hand that Foerster has a real chance to make it. But we all know how they conjure up preseason narratives to send a kid back. It will just come at the expense of Allison and Lycksell. Because a clearly rebuilding team that has finished 4th and 7th worst in back to back years only has 1 spot for a young player on their whole roster (again). Even if Foerster makes it, that’s a big f***ing issue.

From what I saw of Brink in the rookie game, he should start the season in the AHL unless he really raises his game in TC. He just looks rusty, he was hurt last year and may need time to adjust to the pro game. He didn't really break out in college until his junior season, although he was only 20. So I have no problem with him in LHV to start the season.

I don't like Sanheim- York because it'll slow York's development - Sanheim is pretty useless if he's not the primary puck handler when he's on the ice.

Foerster looked worse than Brink in that game, not that I think that game really means anything.

I wasn't looking at results, more skating and just getting involved.
Brink was moving better than last spring, but he just seemed a step behind at times.

I guess we can just agree to disagree. I thought Brink was their best player that night, which isn’t saying much.

York is more likely to play RHD than Sanheim, but who with?
York would also rather play LHD.

York - Walker?
Sanheim - Risto
Seeler/Staal - Zamula/Attard/Grans
The coach literally just said today they would try Sanheim on the right and play York on the left. Pay attention.

Walker was a 14 minute dman last season.

The writing is on the wall for Brink, so the Torts PR team has to preempt the inevitable by pretending Brink "just seems a step behind sometimes"

I look forward to another season of Alison, Brink, Lycksell, Laczynski, Attard, and Zamula fighting for scraps, while Nic Fistlauriers plays 79 games (he'll be injured for the other 3).

Foerster is close to a lock, basically he has to beat out Allison.
Foerster would have to fall on his face or Allison take his game up a couple notches to lose out.

Allison, Laczynski, Brooks, Marody et al are competing for the 13th/14th/1st call up slots.
The younger prospects will start or go to the AHL.
Allison will get injured at some point so starting Foerster in AHL is ok.

Frost is currently centering Farabee and Atkinson.

Cates is with Laughton and Foerster.

Deslauriers is snug and tight in his 4LW spot, alongside Poehling and Hathaway, while Allison and Lycksell look to be on the outside.

Who the f*** knows with the defense. There’s no good options.

That Defense is my favorite. Guarantees a Top 5ish pick again.

It's also important to them to give Staal every possible game.

Yes please

it is possible the flyers do not view most of them as anything but fringe nhl players. I know that upsets some on these boards.

That being said it makes no sense to not find out. Though we are not there every day and they see things we do not. If any have any trade value maybe you take the pick for a few of them.

Tragically, they don't think it's bad and they aren't tanking. They think and expect it will work. You don't presume this is Year 2 of a 3 year rebuild without thinking that this defense is at least fine.

These people are insane

Everyone here knows how they're viewed by the team, it's a daily criticism.

I'm good with Brink starting in the AHL. That hip surgery he had was the same one that Giroux, Getzlaf, Gostisbehere, Coburn, etc...all had and it's one that takes a minimum of year after the surgery heals to get everything back to normal and feeling good.

When Atkinson gets traded closer to the deadline, Brink should be firing on all cylinders and that's when you bring him up. Do I like the idea of Brink playing for Puckhead in Lehigh Valley? No. But I like that he'll get his legs back under him and he should be able to dominate from the get go. Sometimes that's more important than playing 10 to 11 minutes a night with the Deslauriers and the Hathaways of the world.

Oh i'm well aware lol. Torts would never allow them to do anything less than try to win every single game. His ego can't handle short term pain for long term gain, no matter what bullshit he says about "building."

But thankfully, his incompetence and the piss-poor roster are going to lead to many losses and at worst a top 7 draft pick again. Hopefully Briere sells mid-season and we fall into the top 3.
