You’re right, McCann and danault would be better players long term than one legged Zach. Especially at that price tag being mentioned
Lmao you pay for For what you get he has some thing that’s very lacking on this team heart he was still hurt and came back in the playoffs You can’t teach stuff like that most players break a finger nail and out
for two months

Stupid players not wanting to hurt their team by playing on a torn ACL. It's their fault Bergeron won 80% of his faceoffs against Hyman, not because the ACL tear took all his lower body strength.

Hyman playing through injuries to the same leg and hurting his team is why it's a good idea to sign him to a long-term deal with an NMC, after the 4th leg injury he probably won't ever have one again. You just can't teach that Clarkson/Lucic level of heart.

If we want players who try to tough it out by playing on one leg and thus being a non-factor in the playoffs, there are much cheaper options.

If Seattle takes Kerfoot, that leaves about $8M to sign two third line players and a goalie.

McCann Matthews Marner
Robertson Tavares Nylander
Mikyahev
Engvall Spezza Simmonds
Brooks

Rielly Brodie
Muzzin Holl
Sandin Dermott
Liljegren

Campbell

I would probably add something to make it happen actually. Maybe a 4th round pick or a decent prospect.

Unless the Flames fell in love with Nylander being a hometown boy, not sure what the + would be. I am also not sure the Tkachuk brothers don't end up in St.L at some point.

I would trade Nylander straight up for Matt. What's everyone's thoughts on that? I don't expect to get good feedback.
I'd try to turn it into a bigger deal to shed some salary, but, we dont really have any cap dump players.
Matt's going to cost more $$ than Nylander to resign, so, its not good on that front.

Maybe Nylander + Dermott for him? We're stacked on LD and we would likely lose Dermott anyway when we would have to re-up Tkachuk and Dermott at the same time.

If Flames eventually move Johnny H to an east coast team;

Nylander (7) + Marner (11) for Tkachuk (7) + Monahan + (6.3) + Mangapane (2.5) or Hanifin (5)

That should shake up two teams in need of a shake up.

My ideal lineup as well. Shouldn't be hard to find 2 3rd liners & a goalie for 8 Mil in a flat cap year.

I’ve heard MT will end up with the Blues sooner than later. He’ll fit nicely on that team.

Dubas would target Johnny H, small skilled forward, right in his wheelhouse……

Casey Cizikas is a ufa, he’s from Toronto so he might want to sign here.

He is coming off a $3.3M contract that he was given after an 8g and 29p season. I can't see him taking under $2M and he produces like a 4th liner so you can't justify over $2M. Maybe the Rangers will take him to line up beside $3.6M Goodrow:laugh:

Not sure Robertson will make the team. Suffered a knee injury and spent a short time in the AHL and is only 19. May need more time, next year will have a lot of pressure
