So are Leafs going after a top end player, or a few depth players?

Dubas is leaving the team in pretty good shape, other than the Covid-Cap.

Perhaps his drafting will come in too late for him.

Do we want Dubas to use Knies in a deal to try and progress in the playoffs, or would you prefer to aim for next year after Boston's potential wire-to-wire marathon is over?

I don't know where I land in a all-in versus stay the course.

Compromise?

Does compromise ever really succeed or does it just stop you from drowning?

For every 1st. or 2nd. round pick sent away I'd hope they'd land a future in return.

Example 1st. and 2nd. for Top 6 forward/Top 3 defender with term or that player with a late pick 6th./7th.

All in this year seems reckless, unless some futures in returned.

...

Common trades anyone?

Saros at 5 million would be a f***ing gift to the leafs
you'd have presumably Saros and Samsonov for this year and then Saros / Woll
one d and some heavier forwards from being a legit playoff team

Someone mentioned it earlier, a package from Chicago involving McCabe and Raddysh would be a solid addition.

I've read it ... said they don't know if he'll get enough time in before the deadline after coming back from injury in the next week or so.

He looked like the real deal, but from what I recall his play fell off.
I know there are no certainties but a big move for a goalie has to have a pretty high level of certainty.
Demko doesn't sound like that.

What makes people think that Saros is possibly available???

Asking for a friend. 😜

There are rumours Demko has the same issue with his hips that prematurely ended Corey Schneider's run as a top flight goalie. I'd steer clear of him unless you can get him in a Murray-like deal where they give assets and retain salary to mitigate risk.

I think you’re looking at a package starting with our 2023 1st round draft pick, Knies and Woll for any Saros deal.

Yes, I know.
But I've read Demko or Saros as targets.
I wouldn't give much for Demko at this point, Canucks should play him to build up his value for off-season transaction.
I agree.

The 1st and knies I could see but they have young goaltenders so I could see another forward or D prospect added instead.

Because people have wild imaginations and think the rest of the league only exists to provide all their best players to the Leafs? lol

Kypreos also brought it up yesterday (or some point this week) and that's why people are going to talk about it.

the issue here is, no one gives a f*** about how they played. The only thing that matters is the score at the end.
If that's your perspective, then you do you, but that's clearly not the perspective of a bunch of people making incorrect claims about how we played.
Also against boston - we were stymied in the second and that third we controlled play and let stinkers but can be explained by score effects.
Our skaters outplaying Boston's skaters had nothing to do with score effects. The same held true before there was even any score.
