The team should do absolutely everything they can do keep Debrincat. We don't really have anything special on the LW after Brady and Cat. I think the Formenton situation looks pretty bleak.

It really depends on the Pinto situation. If he can be bridged for 5 mil or less, we can make it work cap-wise. After next year the cap shouldn't be an issue.

Keep the Cat. We have t even seen him firing on all cylinders yet. For some reason I think him and Stü together would be a nightmare for the opposition when they figure each other out. At some point it will be tried again.

With less than a month remaining before the Dec. 1 deadline to sign restricted free agents and have them play this season, the Ottawa Senators remain in a standoff with Alex Formenton.

I dont really understand why he would have a future with another NHL team and not here. They desperately need him right now. Dec, 1st looms wouldnt it be in his best interest just to sign the QO before that date?

They gave up hardly anything for Debrincat.

7th overall and 3 total picks for a guy that could potentially walk in a short period is alot. They dont have the prospect depth to deal anymore if the team is this bad.

Deadline to sign QO passed long ago. The latest updates seems like it's being pressed from the player side. Seems like an agent trying to make something happen for his client who is sitting on the sidelines and running out of time to play this season. The reason he isn't signed seems obvious, I'm not sure there would be any interest from other teams.

This rebuild has been long and judging by the lack of an actual elite top 4 may have doing it again soon,nothing about this team and what it has coming up the pipe screams cup contender

The guy the Hawks picked (Korchinski) looks like a future top 4 D, and the guy we were probably going to pick (Kasper) looks like a future top 2 C.

Also gave up the 39th pick + a future 3rd as secondary pieces.

Yeah that's next to nothing for a player of Debrincat's calibre.

You’ve been preaching patience which I totally agree with. Strength down the middle and a solid D are so much more important than having 4 top 6 wingers. Stu, Norris, Pinto and Kastelic is a fantastic starting point but realistically they all need 200-250 games to really be ready and even then they won’t be fully developed.

Idk, with Sanderson looking as good as he does, Brannstrom playing well too, and the team in general not really having issues scoring, maybe he does what we all thought he should have done in the first place and focus on getting someone more similar to Zub.

My biggest criticism of Dorion has been that he seems target a certain player and then he gets tunnel vision.

I think people tend to forget that having quality depth also gives us better options when other guys aren't going. If Chabot is struggling we would have the option of having Chychrun carry the load and vice versa. No player will be at their best for 82 games

I don’t want Hamonic leaving Sanderson’s side for 1 minute unless he is injured. That pair isn’t broken so don’t mess with it.

By all accounts Chychrun struggled playing the right side so that’s concerning.

Zub or Chychrun could be much better for Sanderson.

Hamonic has been alright with some good and bad games. If you want to be a playoff team we need to improve the top 4 and the obvious player to move down is Hamonic

Chychrun also plays on one of the worst teams since he came into the league. If he doesn't work then someone else moves to RD. Again we have options here.

It took Colorado the better part of 10 years after they drafted Mackinnon to become a juggernaut, same with Tampa after they drafted Stamkos/Hedman. People need to be patient LOL can’t blow it up after a couple losses
