I can't believe you even tried to glaze over Kane's 2021-22 playoffs or Hyman's 3 playoff runs here. Hyman has 30 goals and 49 points in the last 3 playoff runs. Like what more do you want?

Henrique also has a history of clutch game winners in deciding games of the memorial cup and the world championships.

McDavid was very good in the game against Sweden so I really don't know what you're talking about. I don't think McD looked great either in that tournament or all season. He's been McD light.

McD is a fantastic player but without a cup and with him being now unseated for long periods of time at top of table he's no Gretzky heritage thats for sure. The latter was top of the table by miles throughout prime. If McD wants to remembered as an alltime great he needs to get back to top.

Not saying he won't either but particularly in lack of goals past two seasons have been downturn. Also the EV production. McD is 80th in NHL this season in EVG. Connor McDavid has one more goal this season than Connor McMichael. Not a good look. 50th in NHL ftr

Oh I'm not sure what he is saying lol but I deserve some of it I guess, my point is dumb. I just wanted a goalie upgrade this year

He literally has a 50% chance of completely imploding in playoff series. That's a big gamble, my friend.

Sure, the player gap has narrowed considerably from Gretzy's era. Gretzky was already unseated at McDavid's age by Lemieux btw, albeit Lemieux is obviously in a different tier than McDavid's peers.

I think it's far too early to worry about this player is all I'm saying. He's been the best player of this generation in the playoffs. If he lays an egg these playoffs then sure get worried, but I can at least understand why he might be going through a lull this season after a heartbreaking game 7 loss in the cup final, his biggest dreams ripped away. When did Gretzky ever have to deal with that kind of adversity? He didn't because he had a very good management group that surrounded him with HHOFers and had some of the best rosters to ever exist in NHL history.

Bowman still managed to get us a 3rd line banger, another good bottom six guy and a top 4 Dman which I did not expect. Also, Kane most likely will be back.

I like Walman. I'm upset because I knew we were looking at a winger and struck out. Anyone that cares about this team should be upset.

Anyways we move forward. Tomorrow is a new day and we go to war with what we got. Screw JJ lol

Canada doesn't even get out of game 1 win against Sweden the way McD was slow arriving in the tournament. As it was Canada needed OT W's in two of the games. Kinda reminded me of the Oilers except we had a goalie. The only reason Canada won.

McDavid came out of the gates red hot against Sweden and showed more energy than he had here all year. Not sure which game you were watching.

The saving grace is that Vegas didn't get drastically better. Round 3 and 4 are hard, but our path to round 3 didn't get harder.

Hopefully those good teams bang themselves up a bit.

The Oilers need to start playing better. Let's hope they get their game going down the stretch here.

Gretz had to deal with the adversity of 81, 82, 83 and 86. Wasn't easy back then either. In fairness to Gretz he also played pro hockey from age 16 on and against men trying to run him out of the rink. So that if he slowed down a wee bit at age of Connor McD he did so after already playing a dozen yrs pro hockey, deserves to be said. So apples to oranges. You are right that no Lemieux exists today.

Thing is even in worst seasons Gretz wasn't 50th in goal scoring...

Its arguable beyond last season that Drai has even been a better playoff performer playing on the same team and with serious injury one postseason.

Anyway neither of us want to besmirch at all. This was a side topic that somehow came up.

Hopefully Eichel injures himself some how and MacKinnon and Makar get kidnapped by a UFO. I mean it could happen.

Now we need to wait some waiver goalies. Maybe we get lucky. And of course we got Rodrigues to try and hope he plays like Binnington with St. Louis Stanley cup run.

I pay little attention to ineffectual energy. McD comes shooting out of a cannon almost every game. he's become more of a predictable player than he's been in the past, and with that a player that is being contained much more than he has been in the past. Futile rushes that don't work don't do a lot for me.

McD needs to start scoring some goals. 50th in goal scoring this season with his pedigree is not up to where he should be. Not at all.
