Losing Spacek, Samsonov, Peca that summer. Then giving deserved raises to Hemsky, Horcoff, Roloson, Stoll and Pisani?

That team was going to lose a ton of their depth with no real game-breaking forward. It was a true Cinderella team that came out of the ether.

If there was one thing that you should take from that run, it's that a team with four full lines humming can outwork a world class offense. That's how they took down the Red Wings, a team that they'd beaten twice that season.

This team does have the depth to get the job done. But they've got a lot of guys who need to get their heads out of the sand.

Another thing to remember about that run us how disappointed some people were with Peca and Pronger's production during the regular season. They didn't really go gangbusters until the games actually mattered.
Do we have guys that have a history of going gangbusters in the playoffs?
McDavid and Draisaitl yes.
Bouchard yes. Anyone else? No. Not really.

I think I missed the start of this argument so I don't fully understand the context and I'm not looking back to find it, but @CantHaveTkachev is right that Roloson had a bad game 1 collapse in the cup final, and everyone else is right that Roloson was spectacular in those playoffs and a massive reason why they almost without a doubt would have won the cup if he didn't get injured.

Kane’s resting in Taylor Hall’s renovated home. There’s a mega healing chamber hidden in the basement. Kane will go supernova once G1 of the playoffs begin. Sources confirm to me per Garfield

We had assets to add Donato or something '

Anyways it is what it is and the games are played on the ice. It's just upsetting JJ f***ed up the offseason so bad and got paid millions to do it.
I agree. We did. It sounded like that's who we were waiting on after we missed Rantanen. But, end of the day, Donato decided to stay in Chicago. It sucks

Where did I say Roloson cost us the cup? Why make stuff up?
Bruh, do you not even remember what you said minutes ago?

This team is going nowhere with this bottom 5 goaltending tandem. Maybe if they can get extremely lucky and dodge the MacKinons and Eichels of the world in the West but eventually that will catch up to them and they'll lose.

Even all this shit about 2022 Avalanche, the Avalanche were going to lose to the Blues that year, they caught a total fluke of a break with Kadri "accidentally" injuring Binnington who was hands down the best player in the series before getting hurt. Then they just had to deal with us, which was a poorly built team with Smith who had run out of gas by game 4 of the Calgary series and Tampa that was in their 3rd straight Finals and also completely gassed.

f*** MAB forever.
That being said, I’d take Roli over Skinner. Hell, I’d want Roli to coach Skinner since Schwartz is a f***ing moron

Honestly Henrique has a pretty good track record. Kulak has been a good playoff performer in his time here. Ekholm as well. Even Janmark has been very solid the past 2 post-seasons despite getting injured 2 years ago. Nuge/Hyman/Kane have had very good moments albeit sometimes inconsistent, but mostly good.

It's not all doom and gloom.

And yeah. I know people are blaming Bowman. But JJ is the one who created this massive conundrum.

Bowman still managed to get us a 3rd line banger, another good bottom six guy and a top 4 Dman which I did not expect. Also, Kane most likely will be back.

I'm a huge Walman fan so maybe thats why I'm not as upset as everyone else

Henrique? He has played 3 times in the playoffs in 11/12 when he was 22, 13 years ago, in 17/18 where he did literally nothing and last year where he put up 7 points.

Kulak and Ekholm are mostly good.
None of that is guys really elevating their game.

The Oilers legacy will be giving other franchises Stanley Cups because they’re eternal losers. Hurricanes, Ducks, Avalanche, Knights, Panthers and probably the Knights again this year.

Yup Roli was awesome during the Playoffs
But he had an awful 3rd…that’s all I’m saying
He contributed to us losing the Cup,
TIL being up 3-0 only to be down 4-3 isn’t a choke

Oilers have their asses permanently parked in the cuck chair at their local best western.

Don’t worry, managements answer is to triple shift Mcdrai every night. No way that doesn’t work right?
