The way I took it was he heard it from a source who isn't in the business of breaking news or sharing rumors. He rated his source as a 9 on a scale of 1-10 on how high up/trustworthy they are. Since he's broken news on the Rangers in the past with moves they've made, I'm gonna take it as it's someone that's really high up in the Rangers organization.

That would make a lot of sense esp. about him not discussing specifics.

Someone posted a rumor about MSL for Callahan an hour or so before the Boomer stuff started going crazy.

Everything Boomer tweeted would apply to an MSL/Callahan swap. Are there other options? Sure, but given the fact someone randomly posted that rumor, and then all this started going on, I would have to say it is at least a likely possibility.

hey i was the one who posted the st.louis for callahan rumor earlier in the day, dont mark my words on it, but it seems like its going to happen, my friend tells me st.louis for callahan is going to happen, and then a few hours later Boomer puts out this tweet. and this guy legit knows marty as a friend

MSL is indeed gritty. He goes to all the tough areas of the ice. You don't have to lead your team in hits to be gritty

Again, trading MSL makes ZERO sense for TB and the Rangers tackling a lucrative 35+ contract makes zero sense for them.

My money is on Hartnell or Simmonds going strictly by what Esiason said. Atkinson makes a lot of sense, too, but words like "hate" don't really apply there.

It's been funny to read the last few pages. When was the last time the Rangers traded with Philly? Was it the Lindros trade? Hartnell certainly fits the bill, but he's over 30. Boomer said under 30 for the player coming back, correct?

Shocking to me says someone completely out of left field. My money is on a sign and trade. Pacioretty or Marchand is coming back.
