There will be some saying to claim him but we already have that in Simmonds. We don't need 2
Not saying we should, but there would be some logic in trading for him if he clears. His contract would be fully buried and not count against the cap and if St Louis is waiving him they might be happy to throw in an asset, a small one mind you, to take on paying the rest of his contract.

In that case, it's fine, but he shouldn't be playing if Simmonds is already there

That’s a pretty smart move.

Holl is trash, cap ballast really, his value is around a 2-3rd at best, this isn’t at best. JT Miller is a ppg gritty 2way forward that would thrive and dominate with a strong froward group with a team competing for a cup.
I don’t have marner on the fourth line, he’s on the second with bunting and Tavares, the fourth line is Kampf with the two geezers, a specialist line with a shutdown C an agitator and a responsible scorer. Very similar to now. while they’re on an 8-2 streak. Kase isn’t jack shit, he’s a former 20g winger who has started to come around recently potting a few goals since moving up the line and playing with some talented guys. mid day that ppg JT miller and Ondrej Kase are pretty good linemates especially if they’re spreading out the offence.
You could easily stack the lines and still have good depth.
JT miller, Kerfoot, Kase & bunting are pretty good “depth”
Blake Coleman who’s half the player miller is was traded to Tampa for a 1st and a very recent former 1st round prospect . We need the cap space for them to retain for this and next season as well. Not to mention in my proposal but forgot to include in the line up was Luke Schenn coming back as well to fill the role of 7D this and next season for a very paltry 850k.
You seem really angry.

I would argue Holl has as much value as Ethan Bear. Albeit younger and an RFA; Holl is better.

As much as I love Clifford, We already have a guy like him in Simmonds, who's probably a better player too. If they want to add more toughness to the team it should be on the backend.

Nah.. offensive blackout... Game 1, 35 shots on goal, 0/4 on PP, we lose 2-1... we score at a normal rate, and the series is over in four.

Matthews, who was 18.5% shooting in the regular season, goes 2.9% in the playoffs.. He shoots at a normal rate, and we have 5-6 more goals... and the series is over in 4, 5 games...
It’s impossible for Matthews to shoot his normal S% against Carey Price in the playoffs. Price is 10 feet out of his crease every time 34 gets near the puck. Hyman & Marner are not shooting threats whatsoever and our coaches weren’t smart enough to see how effective Montreal’s gameplan was

I mean... Matthews wrist was pooched too...

exactly ...need to put a lot of blame on the coach too.
MTL double teamed Matthews and shadowed Matthews, and Marner is the setup guy, and Hyman was useless. those 2 guys shooting the puck is like they were shooting using a floor hockey stick.
Keefe kept running them out there together, and Hyman would just eat the puck and kill the offense ...but, boy, can he forecheck

Gabe Vilardi sent to the AHL

If LA is souring on him, or can't fit him in, I would give up a lot to acquire him
