Should reclaim and send to Marlies for help.
And then just to troll Montreal, send them the bill for Brooks flight ticket to Toronto and cab fee from the airport.

So you think players, coaches, and teams don't try to prevent pucks from going in during the regular season? Is that a regular season stat? We’re talking about playoffs…
Nice straw man. If you think the systems and strategies in the regular season are anything close to the playoffs where you play a team 4-7 times in a loser go home scenario there’s no need for further discussionSo you think players, coaches, and teams don't try to prevent pucks from going in during the regular season?![]()
I mean your last statement's not even true, but also kind of beside the point. Montreal and Price didn't just decide to not bother preventing Matthews from scoring goals, and then decide to finally do something in the playoffs. He wasn't even getting less opportunities with all these supposed only-implemented-in-the-playoffs-with-no-practice "systems and strategies". It's really pretty simple - Price was playing at the top of his game, and Matthews was dealing with an injury and some bad luck.If you think the systems and strategies in the regular season are anything close to the playoffs where you play a team 4-7 times in a loser go home scenario there’s no need for further discussion. As mentioned in my previous reply to you that you conveniently left out teams barely even line match during regular season games
Believe it or not in the playoffs teams extensively scout their opponents each round and implement strategies that are much more tailored to their opponents. This is common knowledge. There’s no need to down play it’s existence because anyone who’s played any sort of high level sports knows betterI mean your last statement's not even true, but also kind of beside the point. This is a top tier, multi-billion dollar professional league, where teams extensively scout their opponents at all times, and implement strategies against their opponents in any game they play - even more-so when they play them 10 times a season like last year. Teams don't just suddenly decide to start trying to prevent goals when the playoffs start. And more relevant to this current scenario because, as I noted, Matthews' offensive opportunity generation was actually higher in the playoffs, goalies especially don't only try to prevent goals when the playoffs start - in fact, it's literally their only job the entire time.Believe it or not in the playoffs teams extensively scout their opponents each round and implement strategies that are much more tailored to their opponents.

Why does offence go down league wide in the playoffs? This is a top tier, multi-billion dollar professional league, where teams extensively scout their opponents at all times, and implement strategies against their opponents in any game they play - even more-so when they play them 10 times a season like last year. I want JT miller for two playoff runs so bad. Miller 50% + Schenn for our depth & picks/future.Vancouver’s about to do something stupid aren’t they?
Didn’t they shake things up this offseason by adding Garland and OEL? And moving Schmidt?![]()
Refs choking on their whistles also plays a rolemostly because the crappiest teams don't get to play.
Most teams ramp up their effort/intensity combined with the Refs letting more go.Why does offence go down league wide in the playoffs?

Lets see who they pick once they get some guys back and have to waive them!Brooks was claimed by Vegas.
Amadio and Brooks together again.
Which trade?I'm really curious if this defenceman trade is going to go down
Not sure why the canucks would be interested in having dead cap space barring a pretty big over payment from the Leafs. Seems like they're trying to retool and be competitive. Cap space is pretty valuable to them. With Vancouver in shambles I'm getting onboard the Miller train. The two year contract at that figure represents a pretty unique opportunity, especially if it were laundered through a 3rd team. Miller at 1.3 for this year and next is worth opening up the vault.
Big swing on a two year window (while solving some cap troubles) makes it worth it.

Anyone you have in mind?Really want to add a defensively responsible scoring threat on that Kampf-Kase line.
It would be awesome to have a shutdown line that’s a threat to score every shift.

The dream addition for me would be Crosby. Less than 5% chance of it happening, but if the pens continue to suck and Crosby and their Management decides it's time to rebuilt I'd pay absolute top dollar for him
5 of Robertson, Amirov, 2022 1st, 2023 1st, Niemela, and Knies, along with Kerfoot + Holl which can be recouped for further value.
Crosby is still elite and despite a slow start for him, due to injuries + COVID, he'd give us a top 10 player all-time in the leaf's organization who has won the cup 3 times as a captain and is the best playoff performer of this generation.
I don't know if the Pens consider moving him, if they rebound I doubt they will. If they suck and Crosby is fine with moving on, and see TML as an attractive option due to the young talent which is looking to overcome in the playoffs, along with us having JT with who he has a good relation, perhaps this minuscule dream could become something more.
No non-NHL asset would be off the table for him, and I would even make 1 of Sandin/Lilijgren available if the Pens wanted a young quality NHL player, though the Pens would have to retain maybe 1.5 to 2M ideally to make the cap hits work
