Or maybe he's playing on the 4th line? Still, even if he gets 25 points, that's a decent haul for a 4C... Spezza has been solid this year.

The on pace for will be interesting to see if it dips etc.

No need to crazy overreact after a loss, they had a strong run for a while there.

I was actually just starting my night shift and noticed that Spezza has posted 6 points in 19 GP now. I'm wondering if it's just age or playing C instead of RW predominantly? That could be something to keep an eye on as the season goes on.

He needs to play on the wing predominantly imo, it's easier on his body and he doesn't have the same defensive responsibilities

Center is a younger man's job and that's why I think he looked good with Brooks last season imo

Yea, unfortunately Simmonds poor at LW.

Thinking ahead?
Kinda of deals I’d like to see happen regularly for a consistent winner

2 questions: how good is Jacob chychrun?
Would u trade Muzzin + or someone + our 1st for him?
Apparently yotes want picks as they tear it down, unsure if he’s one they even willing to move but asking to those that know more then I

There is no way muzz+first gets us chych. If it does. That is a highway robbery. Chychrun isn't known cus he plays in arizona but he is a top 10-15 dman in the league.

I think it may be time to get Ho-Sang signed to an NHL deal. I’ve liked what I’ve seen from him in the Marlie games I’ve watched.

Leafs really could use another speedy offensive minded player. He's never been much of a shooter or goal scorer, something they REALLY need right now, but he'd add a lot of speed and skill. He's also a natural RW, so the Leafs would need to shift a RW to LW.

With that said, I'm ok leaving him on the Marlies for the season. If he keeps it up both on and off the ice, give him a 2 year 1 way deal starting next season.

Really eh
Well that seems like something I’d go all in for then
Guy is young and signed at cheaper then Muzzin
I thought he became what he was projected at his draft year!
That would give us a really nice setup for some time at the back end

you don’t think we could get a 1st for Muzzin??

According to The Fourth Period, Arizona is asking for two first-round picks for defenseman Jakob Chychrun. This was revealed on The NHL Network.

Hey if it costs two firsts for chychrun. I'd do that alllllllll day long. Would be awesome.

Tavares is the kind of player that you really need to understand hockey to appreciate. He does so many little things right. His contributions are subtle, but they're important.

I think the intangibles card with Tavares is nice and all, but it's also the kind of value that needs to be backed up by a multi year Bergeron type run where Tavares' subtle contributions are tilting the ice for the Leafs come playoff time. Or he goes on an O'Reilly type Conn Smythe rampage. So there's a one to one relationship between all the little things he does that adds up to big time success.

I'm not sure we can really hold last years playoffs against Tavares.

He also looked VERY good at the beginning of this 10 wins in 12 game streak. Willed them to a few of those wins and scored some really timely goals.

I like him but I rather he continue do what he does on a consistent basis, the skill he has shown has always been there, there are others thing I remember people said were driving coaches mad, if he has shown that in the marlies as well and then some. I am sure if not this season he'll be up next season for sure.

I'm talking about Tavares' 37 career playoff game and 30 total points with one series win as an entire body of work. It's all wonderful to talk about the subtle ways he can be appreciated and all the little things he does well, but if it doesn't add up to team success over time, it's not that meaningful.

That said, his goal scoring has looked really good this year, so we do need to him contribute in big flashy ways and do all the little things if the team is to go anywhere.

Absolutely something Dubas should be looking at.

I just don't see why Minnesota would be interested in a Ritchie+Holl swap unless for some reason they absolutely hate Fiala.

Trading Kerfoot would remove a C option for us in case on injury.

I'd do the first trade in a heartbeat - not sure I want to move Kerfoot for that though.
