Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. Florida’s got a great team but they r also made some riverboat gambler type moves… brutal value on that trade. Their cap situation looking great either.

You think the refs will allow a Leafs player to manhandle someone? Allow him to do the stuff that he got away with in the playoffs against us? The whistles go away for some teams, but not all of them. We are one of those teams that it doesn't. We have been suspended countless times, and we get called for crap penalties even in the playoffs.
They will let the other team run our guys but will call us on the retaliation. Happened against Boston.
And you think they would let us get away with major cross-checks? That is all he does. Neuter his ability to get away with those kinds of dirty plays, and he is useless.

Gio's cap hit probably makes him our only move if we go that route, would be disappointing unless he was just part of our deadline additions somehow.

We also blew through a bunch of assets last year, especially in that ill-advised Foligno trade. I wouldn't hate if Dubas stood pat. However, if the Leafs are serious about Kucherov-ing Muzzin then it's hard to not want them to make a trade with all that extra cap room.

We have never played that type of game in the playoffs
Whenever we got manhandled we just smiled at them

I wouldn't be surprised to be honest. Depends on your definition of quiet/busy.
I'm going to guess they will try to flip Dermott for something. They will make one or two depth moves mostly Marlies related... That's about it.

Better not be, or Dubas should get his suitcases from out of the closet. The time for patience in “the process”, is over.
We won’t have this skilled a team for much longer. Go all in and trade for players we need that have term. Physical, gritty players that are built for playoff hockey. Just my opinion.
Why would they trade Dermott now if they weren't going to use the cap space to make an NHL add?

Bobrovsky had an history of being awful on playoff except the year cbs beat tampa... just.like that...
Gimme a Bennett type deal rather than the Foligno/ Chiarot deal this year... I'd be looking for value and future rather than the homerun / perfect fit.

I meant to flip him for an upgrade or something. So say using Dermott in a trade for Giordano or Lindholm or whatever... but I guess that wouldn't be a quiet deadline if they did that.
If the Leafs have to pay that for Gio or Lindholm, then they really need to pass and go to the second tier of guys.

That's the kicker. Hard to stand pat when you get some freebie cap space. Gotta make a deal. We don't want the team to be soft so why we being soft throwing in the towel. Anything can happen in the playoffs regardless how much we point out flaws etc.

Prices aren't much different from last year. I'd probably steer clear unless someone drops their prices last minute.

Florida overpaying for the Chiarot rental may not be a bad thing. They were rumored to be after hometown guy Jakob Chychrun, so if that first round pick is going out the door for another LHD maybe this puts that idea to bed.
That said, if we play Florida again, I look forward to seeing Angry Matthews turn Chiarot into speed bag.

If that's the price being paid for guys like Chariot - I would just as soon not bother at the trade deadline. Roll the bones

BTW, the Leafs got a PP and won that game. So yeah, I am laughing if I am Matthews.
I would rather smile at them and win than take stupid penalties and suspensions which have actively cost us series in the past 5 years.
