love that plan, I think a Comtois - Tavares - Nylander line would be solid for the playoffs, and he can move around to any of our lines if needed

We are adding a little bit of cap space, but I have a feeling that Kerfoot could be moved in the offseason so we should have enough cap space to get the other parts of our lineup filled.

Bunting - Matthews - Marner
Comtois - Tavares - Nylander
Engvall - Kampf - Mikheyev
Kerfoot/Simmonds - Spezza/Kerfoot - Kase
Simmonds/Spezza

Trade Kerfoot for futures, Kase replaces Mikheyev next year, and then the 4th line will have a couple of prospects/cheap UFA's for our 4th line along with Simmonds and Spezza once again.

Defense can remain the same except you need some new depth defensemen instead of Lyubushkin and whoever replaces Dermott. We can explore options to change up the goaltending if we feel it is necessary.

You're right two fight and a video of him getting knocked down and lying there for a minute has completely changed the fact that he's 170 pounds and hits less often than Kerfoot does. I'm sure he's an annoying agitator, we got a better one for 950k without spending any picks.
Lmao you really acting like 3 fights and him being involved emotionally aint better than Kerfoots soft ass? I only gave you a couple of examples. Hagel will have more hits than kerfoot in a week after he plays in the Tampa system. I aint callin him a heavyweight. He's gonna be a pest.

Tampa is loaded with grit. If your only comparable to them is Michael Bunting from the leafs end (which you're right by the way)....leafs already lost.

Keep in mind that Tampa clearly overpaid and i ain't want Dubas to touch that value. I'm just pointing out that Tampa has a clear cut vision for roster balance

He's proven he can stay fit this season, I'd say he's going to price himself off the team unless he wants to stay with Kampf
How much leverage does he really have tho?
He will be an RFA and teams probably won’t be in a hurry to give up a pick to sign a guy with an extensive injury history.

Don’t know why but I’m convinced we will be seeing domi and subban in a leafs jersey next year
Nice friendly deals and kerfoot holl dermott will prob be gone

If we're looking ahead I have next year's lineup like

Bunting - Matthews - Marner
Robertson - Tavares - Nylander
Engvall - Kampf - Kase
Knies - Domi (or some other FA) - Anderson

Rielly - Liljegren
Sandin - Brodie
Muzzin - Subban (or some other FA)

Campbell (fairly confident in his ability still, but if not him, some other FA)
Woll/Kallgren

Which is to say, Comtois would look great here in the Robertson spot to bump others down a touch

You know you lack faith in your team when you are already icing next year's team

I don't see or any interest on Subban and/or Max Domi

It's time we get away from allowing too many oustiders to convulate our lineups
Few of our young kids needs to step up and get some opportunities to contribute

Frankly speaking, if we don't make some serious noise in the playoffs, then we'll need to move away from Nylander
He's the only one that can get us good player in return

We should move away from Campbell regardless. This market will kill him if he's constantly inconsistent
Also, Mrazek isn't going anywhere. He'll to our new Marincin.

I'm not sure if I'm interested in Severson or not... decent numbers and decent contract, but he's good for a Bryan McCabe esque gaff every once in a blue moon

Domi isnt really a good fit. He gets offered more than we could afford to pay him elsewhere. His defensive game isnt good enough for our bottom 6 and i don’t see him as a great fit on the Tavares line for the same reasons.

Subban on the other hand has made enough money in his career that he may be willing to play in his hometown at a steep discount.

Both guys are the type of players who would not just be able to handle the spotlight of Toronto but would actually enjoy it.
