Getting Liriano is fine. But have people looked at his ERA? Easily the worst on our team.

Liriano was awesome and consistant the last couple of years. 3.5 ERA approx.

if its Liriano+ for Hutch. Im way more then happy about that. Hutch was given multiple chances to break his way into the rotation.

I agree. We addressed what we needed. We can always find another righty. It's not the end of the world people..... We got what everyone was complaining about 30 minutes ago.

I would've rather done hutchison + C level prospect for ervin than hutchison for liriano and prospects

Look a year back, there is a reason liriano was traded.

The jays must feel confident they can fix him, as well as having a great pitch calling catcher in martin that has worked with him in the past is fine.

So what trade, pray tell, should we have done today? When I look at the Blue Jays, I see a team with virtually no holes outside of the bullpen, which was addressed in part today.

You go for it, you go after Miller or Hill or Sale. If you're not moving forward, you're getting left behind, and that's what I fear happened today. Our starting staff, due to the Sanchez situation is paper thin. Our bullpen has struggled all season long. The past 22 years have shown us how hard it is to win, this team is close, empty the cupboards, go for it.

Liriano has been horrible. It's a salary dump move from PIT, I'm expecting the prospects we get in this deal to be pretty decent.

People are actually mad it might be Hutch going? This guy has been given all the opportunities in the world to make the rotation and he couldn't. A spot was basically his to lose and he lost it. Time to give up on him IMO.

Not sure I like this. Liriano's been pretty awful. Terrible ERA. Horrible walk rate. Terrible HR rate

Well said. The only reason Hutch did well is our bats saved his life mostly every game last year.

Completely 100% agree.

If we can get liriano down to a 4 ERA and some decent stats, hes an arm that is here for next year as well to replace dickey.

Really dig this deal if its Liriano+2 prospects for Hutch.

I like the move if we don't trade any of our best prospects. Waiting to hear the full details sucks...

there is nothing redeemable about liriano's performance this year.

maybe they think he'd be good in the bullpen?

Also: Harold Ramirez AA OF to Toronto with Liriano

Top 100 prospect coming into 2016... so I guess we'll be giving up a pretty good piece. Greene maybe?
