I think it honestly sends the wrong message. The window is supposed to be this year and the teams around them improve while they sit on their hands. Gross

What is Zaun's segment all about? First he makes a "stat geeks at their moms' kitchen table" joke because "real men" make big trades. Then he tries to justify how supposedly smaller moves pay big dividends by citing.... Ben Zobrist? :biglaugh:

The more I look, the more I like the past few days.

If (and it's an if), Sanchez has to go to the pen, the Jays now have Hutch and Feldman as potential replacements. I would take Feldman over Chavez every day of the week.

And they also have another 30 days to make a trade for somebody to replace Hutch/Feldman.

After today, they have two solid options to move into the rotation to replace Sanchez (if necessary) and they have time to replace the bullpen production of the guy going into the rotation.

I kinda feel bad for the die hard fans who show up game in and game out. I realize we are close to first place. But for all the money the fans have handed over they must be disappointed. I see no noteworthy improvement. They made small deals for the sake of making a deal. A shake up. Have to hope the offence keeps going strong. Because I don't think our P has the legs.

This team is going to generate more than $100M in revenue this year than last year, and they are treating the fans like "Mushrooms," they just keep on shovelling **** on them and keeping them in the dark. There should be no excuse, for not taking off the rubber band of the wad of cash and spending it on players. This organization of Rogers is a joke. They paid $78M for the Bills fiasco, and another $433.33M for the next 10 years to the NHL. They got no money to put into the baseball team. They are taking the profits from the Jays to help offset the losses from these other deals. There is no other possible reason for not flexing there financial muscle.

Liriano is intersting. He's still got high-K potential. His down year this season seems largely tied to a spike in walk rate. If Martin can rein that in, that's solid. Or he could be a fireballing reliever.

I think it honestly sends the wrong message. The window is supposed to be this year and the teams around them improve while they sit on their hands. Gross

The Orioles have barely improved if at all. The Red Sox really haven't. and the Jays were already better than most.
