Bickell was known as a low effort guy from the time he first tried on skates. We all feel bad about his illness, but pretending he spent most of his career as anything but a lazy player, and cashed in on one great playoffs, is as disingenuous now as it was then.
See what I mean. It's still going on years after he retired from the game. We need more fluff interviews. :)

He was great every playoffs. Don't get why people forget that. He was one of the few scoring in 2012 vs Smith. His line was great in 2011. He was good in 2014 too. 2015 he was falling down and definitely starting to be affected by MS, but he averages 5 hits a game.

Yeah he was honest, you can't go 100% like that every game. If he did in an 82 game season, he'd set a record for most hits in a season. That's just a legit truth to it.

coaches are fine to be honest some times. I recall Babcock, pos he is, had valid points his 1st year in Toronto saying, "who is going to score?" They don't have great talent. I'm sure some WANT the Hawks to losen up defensively to take more offensive chances but is that best for the team and future? Bedard is not the golden god like some see him. He shouldn't be viewed that way
