Yours is Travis Dermott. Who was the the Leafs Timothy Liljegren before Timothy Liljegren.

This post literally makes no sense. By comparing Liljegren to Dermott - you're essentially saying they're equal level prospects or were considered to be as such. Dermott is in his prime, better than he was when he was hyped and still was healthy scratched over a young Timothy Liljegren rookie - what are you not comprehending?

I genuinly think our top d-pairing at this point is Giordano - Liljegren or at least will be tied with Rielly - Brodie

We had to witness his [Dermott] underlying numbers at the beginning too. These players are ok in a limited role, play a good game here and there but thats about it.
They were good, but not as good as Liljegren's and definitely not even comparable when he moved up the line-up. Liljegren has been one of the league's best possession defenseman, and his results were even elite when he was paired with Rielly. He leads all Leaf dmen in virtually every analytic that matters.

Read the post right above yours.

It doesnt matter that he was a healthy scratch in favour of Liljegren.

Point is how he was touted after a solid first two seasons but that they remain bottom pairing defensemen. Within a few seasons Liljegren might be a healthy scratch and so we continue with these potential elite defensemen from Toronto.

If Liljegren gets scratched and useless somehow in Toronto, you can trade him to us, but, to be honest, I have the guts to say you guys will need him for the future.

This thread reeks of trying to get people to argue about a young player.

Why exactly would the Leafs ever entertain trading a young cost controlled RHD. It's exactly what they need.

Just lock this bad boy up imo

You do realize that Dermott not reaching his potential has quite literally nothing to do with Liljegren right? Like there is zero correlation other then they happened to be drafted by the same team.

You do realize Liljegren was labeled as the next best thing but wasnt really in the end ? I hope so.
I don’t care what he was labelled as. Completely irrelevant to me. He has played well this year and what he turns out as in the future is to be determined. Whatever random ass tangent you seem determined to take this in to idk try and win a trade from 3 years ago or something? Good for you lol we are all fine with how Liljegren is doing for us. If you are so happy with Durzi I’d assume you would like buzz off and just go enjoy your player.

Tor to evaluation…all cheap prospects are top 10 prospects and the greatest thing since sliced bread….

He's getting better and better every game, he's a core player for us. Young RHD on an elc, playing excellent hockey. No chance he gets moved. I imagine Muzzin is gone this summer. We'll have Rielly/Sandin and possibly Gio if he re-signs. That extra money from Muzzin will be very helpful rounding out the roster.

You're not understanding the point. Dermott just stagnated - he was playing like how he is now but as a 20 year old dman - which gave everyone hopes. But then he had a brutal leg injury - and just never progressed.

Liljegren is already playing like a top 4 dman whereas Dermott just showed glimpses and potential. The end

I thought the question was how people view him. Like always things take a turn and people respond on that. You quote me and now I suddenly have to buzz off because you didn’t like the answer. You are too emotional.

I do understand the point but perhaps you don’t. The new toy is always better than the old toy. I am coming here for a few years already. I just don’t buy it and eventually Liljegren just showed glimpses and and whoever defenseman than is playing is more promising again.

I am not emotional at all. You have a warped interpretation of what Liljegren is because you want to perceive it as some W for the team you cheer for. That's all really. Your entire tangent on Dermott is completely nonsensical and pointless.
