Do you think it was intangibles related ? Because in terms of play style Peterka is hard working competitive two way player. Alfie type, right in our DNA.
I have no idea. Maybe it’s as simple is they had internal corps to Reichel and preferred him but he came off the board at 17.

I'm sorry but Boucher at 10 is a pretty bad one. Tkachuk was higher on bob's list then Zadina. Lotta revisionist history of people acting like Tkachuk wasn't rated higher on Bob's final list.

Where was anything you mentioned, involved in the conversation about Peterka?

He plays on the third line doesnt play with Huberdeau or Barkov. He is one of the best defensive players in the league. Doesnt get any pp1 time at all he actually isnt currently even on their second pp. But he plays on their first pk. I dont believe his numbers are inflated in the slightest. I am not sure what this has to do with Stutzle either I didnt compare the two. Didnt say id take him over Stutzle just that he would be a top 3 pick in a redraft.
Has nothing to do with Timmy, just curious is all

They got the donuts? Excellent....
Other than Karlsson, I don't know if I can remember a more electric player on the Senators. He's figured out that he can skate and stickhandle around everyone now and he's just a joy to watch when he's doing it. His ability to separate from attacking forwards with the puck along the boards in his own end is something I can't remember another Senator forward being able to do.

Assen na yo!

This is true, maybe one scout really fought for Jarventie and no one did for Peterka.
Personally, I am not enamored with drafting a duo. It worked for the Sedins, but you should draft JJ on his own merit, not just because of his junior chemistry with Timmy. What if they can't pull it off at the NHL level, then what?

I think Jarventie can continue to develop and man, can he shoot the puck!

Damn - not practicing today and might miss the game tomorrow (TSN 1200)
That's fine, heal up for Saturday. He has an ass kicking to deliver on the scoresheet and perhaps a personal delivery to that washed up Gallagher guy.

I agree. I'm also confused at the chemistry argument, most of that chemistry everybody saw was after the draft at the world Juniors. And Peterka was literally the only guy outside of Stützle to be good enough to play on a top line so they were playing together no matter what.

I never suggested they draft him because they are a duo. I don't think there should ever be that logic. They should have drafted him because he was the best player available. He is quite easily a top 20 pick in a redraft right now. Probably top 15.

Quite easily top 20 would be a stretch, and no way top 15. Lots of good players in that draft

He is a ppg in the AHL with a terrific motor.... I made my list previously, see below. What's yours look like?

Its way too early to do this but in a redraft my top 20 looks like this. Alot of players I had a very hard time deciding on where they go specifically 4 through 7 to me those 4 players are interchangeable.

1. Stutzle
2. Lundell
3. Raymond
4. Byfield
5. Drysdale
6. Quinn
7. Sanderson
8. Mercer
9. Holtz
10. Jarvis
11. Lafreniere
12.Perfetti
13. Peterka
14. Reichel
15. Schneider
16. Rossi
17. Barron
18. Holloway
19. Chinekhov
20. Neighbours

Honorable mentions to Guhle, Perreault, Greig, Bourque, Lapierre

I would have the 12 before him plus Reichel, Rossi, and Schneider ahead as well. After that it's very close with a lot of the other guys you've listed plus others like Brisson and Bordeleau.

But it is way too early and there was a lot of quality in that draft where guys will fluctuate in rank wildly depending on ripping up the minors or stagnating in the bigs. Lafreniere will climb back up there. Will be interesting when Peterka gets some NHL time.

So I guess top 20 isn't a stretch as you have him there too?... Top 15 definitely seems like a possibility. He has had a better season than Rossi and is the bigger player that is younger and is a better skater. I think we both agree it is too early but he has been nothing but a stud since he was drafted. I think because he had such good chemistry with Stutzle people thought he was a product of him. He hasn't played a game with him since that wjc and has produced everywhere else he has been. Just a golden year for Germany with Reichel too.
