This is a bad hockey team

Gallant wants to play a hard forechecking game that is relentless, but these guys literally dump and don’t chase. The only ones I see that have been effective at it is the 4th line. The top 9, especially the top 6 need to be blown up. They need a guy with speed to really get in if they’re gonna continue to dump it. Otherwise, it’s the same as DQ hockey, dump and no chase. Literally handing the puck back to the opposition to try and not get ? Definition of insanity.

We really don't have any good forecheckers as the team is currently constructed outside of maybe Kreider and the 4th line. Lack of speed is one of the issues, but so is battle level and compete.

I will say this again but until Sather leaves we won't win anything. It was obvious he couldn't control Gorton and he was waiting for his chance to can him and replace him with a yes man. The Kravtsov thing, the Buch trade, the rushing of prospects has Sathers stink all over it. Kakko, Chytil, Kravtsov, Andersson, Lafreniere, Lundkvist and Miller all should have started in Hartford and it should be known that when you are drafted here you are most likely starting in hartford. We haven't developed anyone and for a team so rich with money we put little time and effort into getting the best people to do that. The old man trying to push old school thinking on these new era young kids won't work.

Yea that’s what really pisses me off about Mika, Panarin, strome. You can tell they literally avoid forchecking at all costs. I know I blamed Quinn, but it seems that it was them all along. Now they’re trying to pull the same bullshit on Gallant. We’ll see if they take him out too

That leaves the kids to do the heavy back checking, forechecking & putting up the points worthy of top picks all by themselves.

The Rangers were 11th and 4th in scoring the past two seasons. How much do you want them to score before attempting to turn the page?

I want them to get Kakko and Lafreniere up to speed and to get a legit 1B center into the fold.
 
I can appreciate Galant not putting the lines into a blender, and trying out combos for a string of games, but it's probably time to shuffle them up again. An easy change could be to simply swap Kreider and Panarin. Defensively Laf-Chytil-Blais have also looked pretty bad, maybe put Goodrow there and slide Blais up to play with Panarin and Mika. Or slide up Hunt and drop Blais down. Those first two lines need to get going.

I also wouldn't mind seeing Kakko with Mika and Kreider, kind of surprised we haven't seen them tried together either, in that case Goodrow just slides down. I can see Kakko playing the Buch role well if given that chance.

Shesty is being asked to stand on his head every single game he plays. How is that sustainable? Even the most elite goaltenders need some easier nights in nets. The constant need to battle is both physically and mentally is taxing.

Poor play needs to be corrected. Poor play that escalates into bad habits is definitely sustainable -- in a bad way.

I f***ing wish, would elevate this team more than people realize..........but it would have been the biggest risk and I don't think Drury wanted to really take it. I just hope they can add someone that can pot more goals by the trade deadline

I think Igor will regress. I also think the rest of the team will progress. I was only criticizing the premise that the rest of the team won’t clean up their game.

Thing is, they don't forecheck that hard. Maybe one line does. Rooney + Hunt is a good combo in that regard. But not the whole team.

The PK is good, yes that is true.

This looks very much like the shit they pulled with Quinn where he wanted them to do X and they said nah we are gonna do Z. It's incredible that the players are dictating the style again. Completely spineless by the org if that is happening.

If we've learned anything it's that the players and coaches you covet from afar would definitely fix all our ails.
