I have not witnessed a single Cup in my 26 years of life, which makes this garbage even more infuriating. Of all the teams I've witnessed since I started watching in 03-04, this may be the most disappointing.
If thats how you truly feel then no one should take you seriously. But it also explains a lot. You didnt live through the early 2000s. You think this is bad hockey? At 5-2-2? Sad dude. You think this team is so bad, I suggest you dont watch or go follow another team.

Its been 9 games.

You're going to tell somebody who has watched every single one of the past 1,500 Rangers games that they don't have the right to their own opinion about the current iteration of the team? Give me a break.

No, no, everyone is entitled to their own opinion…doesn’t mean the opinion should be taken seriously

Think this a bit of an overreaction, but offense has to start being better at producing chances

Haha okay.

What a spoiled brat, which is impressive considering you have probably witnessed maybe one cup in your lifetime, maybe one.

Keeping the receipts from the clown crew of crybabies.
The 15-16 team was 14-2-2, how'd that work out? This team has a lot of issues and pointing that out doesn't make someone spoiled.

That team was coming off a ECF run the year before. The season certainly went sideways and there were reasons for it.

We are NINE GAMES into a season. The team is still very young. The style and identity of the team is changing. New coach. Their best players have not played their best. Do you think that will last the entire season? Really? And yet the team is still 5-2-2.

Yeah I would say the reaction is a bit absurd, spoiled, dramatic, whatever you want to call it, but its not becoming for sure.

The point is criticizing the team when their record looks good does not make one spoiled or dramatic. All we can do is discuss what has happened so far, no one knows what will happen the rest of the season. Are all of those things you mentioned factors? Maybe, but on the other hand this goes beyond changing systems, team identity etc.

The Problem is that this team doesn't have a single good center. Rooney has been our most complete center. Zib, Strome and Chytil are just bad.

I can't stand the negativity from Giants fans but they've been the worst team in the league for 5 years and are 2-6. Threads like this here make me not want to come to this board. Just f***ing putrid. I'm sure you'd be celebrating if we were 2-6-1 and dominating every game. Oh no you'd be bitching.

this is rich coming from the guy blaming shesterkin in the post game thread. Take a good long look in the mirror bud

The team has talent, but it lacks cohesion. This is a thread I’d revisit at the end of next month. I always feel like you don’t really know what you have until December.

its not a bad hockey team. they've shown a ton of great things, the top 4 on d have been great on the whole and have the best or close to it in the league anchoring. goaltending is elite, well the starter.

forwards are definitely an issue, some great pieces, but the top 9 have been awful. definitely need at least 1 if not 2 disruptive skaters - dynamic guys that buzz up the ice with the puck and back teams off carrying, create loose pucks in the neutral zone/forecheck etc. question is who do we target, because strome/chytil are the guys you'd ideally replace, but idno if realistically there's anyone that would be available with that skillset available at a cost that doesn't just open another hole. maybe you could get seattle to bite on gourde for chytil with them playing the long game on what he could be...he'd be a fantastic pickup at 3c. marchessault as a cap casualty in vegas with eichel deal only other possibility i can come up with.

This is the worst Rangers team at generating offense I have ever seen. But what can you expect when you lose the amount of talent they have, plus the top picks have been basically useless at creating anything.

And when they decide to reward defense and checking over scoring.

It’s like they don’t realize what year it is. Grit is the final piece of the puzzle, it’s what you import when everything else is in place and ready, to protect you in the playoffs. This delusional owner and his idiot GM thought this team was actually a contender just because it has Panarin and Zibanejad. Not realizing that the real contenders have way more developed scoring talent.

Rebuild was ended too early.

6-2-2 and not firing on all Cylinders and not playing their best. If anything more optimistic this season. Since once everyone gets going they are going to be a real force. I can’t even imagine how bad this place would be if they had a losing record. Would be total meltdown, Toronto style.

Thank god for Fox - he’s our points leader 10 games in. Oilers next. Yikes.

It’s disappointing the lack of production we are getting 5v5.

Panarin, Zibanejad and Strome will get it going. They have history of being able to get it going.

I’m concerned about the other guys - Lafreniere, Kakko and Chytil. NYR need those guys to take a leap, if they want to be something. If they can’t, then they’ll go as far as shot suppression and Igor take them.

Will they? That's not a guarantee.

As for the others, they are not good. Kakko is the best of them and he has no points.

People hated Quinn, complaining about his system all the time. I am convinced none of them even know what a system is. It wasn't the coach, it was the personnel.
