we're not bad or far off...the kids are kids and need time, but there's pieces missing and a mindset adjustment required. i'll keep saying it, this team needs to racecars with the puck to get it moving and people out of position to open up more space going up ice

way to much whack the puck up the boards where a team collapses on us

but also there needs to be some attitudes changed...kreider, gauthier, mika here and there, and the 4th line who have a purpose with the puck - they get going north / south. kreider has been getting to the net and not taking no for an answer in front

panarin hasn't forced the issue once this year, kakko, laf, strome, chytil...no one has any interest in getting their noses dirty, dropping a shoulder and driving through someone to get a shot off...or attacking and making a move, or attacking to find a shot through a screen. whether its fear of turnovers or fear of getting hit this team has a bunch of guys who have no interest in making the physical, effort play to create a chance....its pull up and try to find a cross ice miracle pass, force a hopeless pass from behind the net to the one guy in front tied up by 3 people, move it up high to a d without a good look, or any traffic that might offer hope on a shot that can get through... nor anyone driving for follow up chances....its a team thats living on the outside. we need help to make this team more dangerous, but this complete and utter toothlessness on the attack is just a total lack of effort or willingness to compete physically in tough areas.

And just in case there has been a misunderstanding here, OBVIOUSLY I WANT this team to play well. If they beat the Oilers tomorrow, I'll be overjoyed. I want everyone to play to their potential. Currently, up to this point, our record is good, but our play has been abysmal, and that's concerning. I hope we can turn it around and be the truly elite team we can be when we're firing on all cylinders.

This is god awful analysis. Winning =/= playing well. They are getting exactly what they deserve and their bad play has caught up with them.

oh...you're one of those cool guys that is so witty with the random capital letter thing. Hehehehe....there's always "that guy"....somehow I managed to do that without almost every other letter with caps.

Now, please tell me the line of demarcation as to when its not sustainable any more....we are at 12 games....does it stop at 15? 20? 25? 10 bad hockey games play out of 11....and points arent good enough...or should I say GoOd EnOuGh? And are you of the opinion that there will be no "good" games played by our guys?

since the NHL goes on a point system, its immaterial to say 6-5....because that would suggest only 12 points. I dont deny they certainly have left much to be desired, but I'd rather be 6-2-3 than worse than that....no matter how we have played. And honestly, if we didnt blow third period leads in the last two....I guess there would be bitching about being 8-2-1 also. Again....have gotten a point in every road game so far has to mean something....luck? maybe....but its not bad.
