Rudolph, Brisette and Haskins has to be the worst QB trio ever in Steelers modern day history
Good news is, Steelers will be in the top 5 of the draft next year Sorry heyward, you’re never seeing a super bowl in Pitt

Lol Rudolph isn’t getting more than 4-5 wins Have you actually seen him play? They will be 1-5 or 0-6 in the North Rudolph is abysmal

TJ Watt and Ben willed this team to 8 wins.
This team is essentially the same as last year. If we assume Rudolph is the QB we're looking at 5-6 wins easily.

But something something Neil O Donnell. NOD has f***all to do with the 2022 team. But I'd expect nothing less from the resident Tomlin polisher

Ben had nothing to do with the 9 wins. He was a game manager it was the defense just like it was the defense in 2020 to carry this team to 11-0 start. The defense was giving up 22 points a game through the buy and they were struggling to win.

Briisette is someone who they might bring in after the draft cause they always take 4 QBs to camp but he is a threat to start he is less mobile than Ben with his washed knees

Putting Ben 2021 in the same sentence as TJ Watt 2021 is delusion.

I think the best case scenario now is that they trade up for Willis and let him sit behind Trubisky for 2 years. They still need to get a QB. Pickett may not make sense because he's probably very close to starter ready, but Willis would make sense.

With that being said, if Pickett slides to the Steelers 1st rounder and they don't take him, I'm going to be super irritated. This team isn't going to be a winner next year with Trubisky, they're going to be mediocre at best. This team needs to build for the future, not try to shoot to be slightly above mediocre.

@Empoleon8771

I can’t figure out quoting on mobile.

I think the point of Trubisky is they don’t need to use draft capital to chase this meh crop of QBs. Keeps them from being absolutely forced to do something at the draft.

I wouldn’t hate Willis, but I don’t wanna move up for him. Would rather draft an OL, DL or WR. I’m only taking Willis or Pickett if there’s a massive run on those positions and they are truly BPA.

I’d take a QB in ‘23 or ‘24 anyway though.

Yeah, that makes sense. I also had the thought that Trubisky and Pickett are very similar, so you could draft Pickett and have him sit behind Trubisky for 2 years and the transition would (in theory) be seamless.

I don't know that they need to sit Pickett for 2 years, though. Sitting would make more sense for a higher upside guy who needs some seasoning, that's not really Pickett.

I think a Willis/Trubisky stack is their goal for sure.

I don’t hate this if they take a QB round one to sit behind him. It’s better than going into the season relying on a rookie or Rudolph.

Trubisky is not bad but he’s limited from a ‘read the defense’ standpoint. I think his pluses align with the kinds of things Canada what’s to do. I had thought for a while that he’s be an ok add but in recent weeks had talked myself into the idea that Mason was here, learning the ropes and doing it right, they should give him a chance. I suppose he could still beat out Mitch?

To me Trub is Mason Rudolph who can run around. Which behind this Oline, he's gonna need to do that a lot

I think the only problem with Willis is that you're going to need to trade up above Seattle to get him, and I feel like the cost to do that would be astronomical.

I would be happy if they take Pickett in round 1 and have him sit behind Trubisky for 2 years. I'd be concerned what the cost would be to get Willis instead of Pickett.

Called it. Just saying. Either way, he’ll be a fine enough stop gap. He’s mobile and sat under Allen with an actually good team. His first years in Chicago were under some of the worst coaching in the league.

As others have said. Hopefully he learned a few things. He was a high number 1 pick for a reason.

No way to know where guys are going to get drafted once the draft gets late in t he first round, but I like Ridder in round 2 better than Willis in round 1. Like I said, no way to assure you can draft Ridder if you pass on Willis, but...
