I feel like their plan all along has been to go with Mason. I don’t think they’re going out of their way or cobbling together a significant package of assets to send out for a QB. I won’t rule out drafting a guy but I think that’s the plan.

The Steelers trade and sign all the D linemen and ILB in the world They won’t win more than 4 games with Rudolph or brisette
QB Is the first order of business yet Colbert and Rooney are to conservative to see it

I think they are very aware of the QB situation. It’s all they or anyone else talk about. Problem is, we weren’t gonna lure Rodgers away and couldn’t compete with the Wilson offer. Watson has too many distracting issues.

I think it’s a trade for Jimmy G or signing Trubisky. I’d draft someone like Ridder in a round after 1.

Lol Rudolph isn’t getting more than 4-5 wins Have you actually seen him play? They will be 1-5 or 0-6 in the North Rudolph is abysmal
I just saw this team win 9 games and get to the playoffs with a washed Ben who was the 26th ranked Qb and was 30th in ypa and finished with the most passes short of the sticks for the 2nd year in a row. This organization made a super bowl with NOD at QB. They went 7-0 when Ben didn’t throw a pick and 2-7 when he did. They will expect more growth from Muth Claypool and dj the defense will still be good and they are playing the nfc south Colts AfC East

There’s a bidding war for Tribsky because he is the best player of the trash free agent options and no one trading for Jimmy G. Even if they draft Ridder he needs to redshirt and bulk up.

Ridder would be a couple year project. Which is why I would sign an FA. I’ve heard otherwise about Jimmy G, but I guess we’ll see. All the analysts are saying it’s trade or cut for him and there are several teams interested.

People mercilessly bashing Rudolph as if we didn't just witness backup-caliber QB play for a year, aside from when we were down 3+ TDs and the opponents played soft.

Good. Please no watson.

If watson does go to the panthers, theres maybe 1-2 teams looking for a qb ahead of us in the draft
I’m not pining for Watson to be a Steeler. But I don’t believe the odds are great any of the QB’s selected in this draft will be close to as good as him given how weak it is. Could they? Sure. Likelihood? I won’t hold my breath.

Good for Seattle. That will assist in quickly reloading.

I'm still anti-QB in this draft, but if we're going to do it, I'd like to board the Willis train and see if this staff can manage to develop him. The tools are incredible.

Ridder could be a really good QB, but like you said, he needs a seasoning. I watched him a few times and his skill never came through in the games I saw. He never took over games. These QBs have ridiculous raw talent in this draft, but none of them are polished. With that being said, Mahomes wasn't polished either, and look what happened after they gave him a bit of time.

Seattle has to use those picks wisely. Focus is purely drafting for the best players regardless of position vs drafting to fill a need that wasn’t filled in free agency. Right now, the only players on the roster who I would give another contract to are Metcalf, Lewis OG, Taylor DE, Brooks LB. sadly no other player on their rookie deal has impressed yet to justify trying to extend.

Thus Watson makes no sense for them. And he should see that they don’t in terms of winning.

Pitt, not loving any of the remaining veterans. Mariotta, Winston, and Trubisky are free agents.

I expect Jimmy G to get cut as SF needs to cap space this week for free agency. I doubt other teams are blinking on him right now.

I'm just hoping this QB carousel that is happening results in a good QB dropping to the Steelers in the draft.

Do the Texans take a QB in round 1 after trading Watson this year? I know the Commanders won't because they traded for Wentz and whoever trades for Watson between Seattle, Carolina and New Orleans (the favorites from what I've seen) won't take a QB either. Who all would that leave at that point?

I think the Texans stick with Davis Mills. He actually had a really solid rookie year. Mac Jones gets all the love but he and Mills were actually really similar statistically last year. I think if you want the Steelers to take QB, Carolina is the best case scenario for a Watson trade. Seattle I don’t think is a sure thing to take a QB and if they do it’s likely Willis. And New Orleans wouldn’t be tough to jump in the draft.

Minnesota and Atlanta may take one, but they’re more long shots to do so. Right now it looks like Pickett is more likely to drop than Willis which is fine by me.

There’s still a lot of movement that’ll happen before the draft so it’s tough to guess right now.

Yeah, I saw a mock draft that had Pickett all the way at pick #42 to the Colts and I didn't know what caused that to happen.

I could see Watson to Carolina, Seattle taking Willis at #9 and the Steelers taking Pickett at #21. The only team between picks 10 and 20 that I could see taking Pickett is New Orleans.

That’s embarrassing actually. Why even announce in the first place? He almost immediately said “never say never” like a week after he retired, too.

WTF was the point? We had to see a slob fest for a week over him and now he’s back. So we get to do this all over again next year.

I mean, he thought it was the right call and now he changed his mind. Probably already started to go stir-crazy and dreading the FOMO. It would be hard to give up something you've done that long, especially if you're that good at it.

As a Bills fan, I'm really stoked to have the nightmare of an ever-improving Bills team on the cusp of the Super Bowl meeting and subsequently losing to Tom Brady's Bucs hanging over my head again. Cool stuff.

Why are all QBs such over-dramatic attention seekers? Looking at you Brady and Rodgers.

I think knowing a decent number of Bills fans helps me from getting too worked up over any of the Steelers' problems
