I'm not so sure Boyd is a good fit for an Arthur Smith offense. I thought he used very little 11 personnel, and Boyd is almost a pure slot WR. Or at least that's how the Bengals have used him, even in the post-AJ Green pre Chase/Higgins years.

He has played outside at times for the Bengals (I believe) but I don't think he has the ideal speed for it. I can see them doing it because he's a great blocker, big culture, high production guy and maybe they think it'll work... but I can see them doing it and it not working.

I think that's a false equivalence. Carolina was going to cut Jackson. Maybe that's all they could get, I don't know, and if so, the return is what it is. But the idea of rolling into 2024 with Pickens, rookie, Boyd/rando #3, and Austin just isn't exciting to me.

If this was the return the Steelers took it feels like they were willing to consider just cutting Johnson too.

Sutton could be out in DEN and he had pretty good chemistry with Russ. Big dude and I think he's a pretty good blocker too? Two more years at like 17.5m is kind of yuck though.

Sutton really popped watching Denver's touchdowns. Made one absurd catch and got free a lot. I dunno what the cost would be but he's legit.

Steelers probably explore a restructure with Donte Jackson and if they can’t come to an agreement, they cut him right?

Given that there'd be zero dead money (or so I think) incurred from doing so, this makes sense.

Just seen Garofolo said there were trade talks with Kansas about Johnson but didn't want to send him to an AFC contender. Mildly lame if true, although surely they can't have been giving that much more.

Khan just sent him to the cesspool of the NFL with a lunatic for an owner.

I’m sure DJ’s strong mental game can handle it.

Ridley is going back to Jacksonville. The conditions on the trade were that if Jacksonville re-signed him they would give up a 2nd. But if they wait until tomorrow after the new league year officially starts and sign him as free agent they only owe Atlanta a 3rd

Wanted DJ gone, no so sure the DJ we got afforded us good return. We move up 62 spots late in the draft which is nice. Let's see what else happens but ATM can't say I'm thrilled with this.

I hadn't really thought of that as that's not my problem but if Khan had wanted to absolutely shaft DJ, he couldn't have done a finer job.

I am putting it that way for humour rather than a belief in conspiracy but boy is that an ugly landing spot for him and I bet he'd have rather been cut.

I don’t think Khan did it on purpose, but I guess he possibly did have a chance to send him to KC.

KC… Carolina… mmm, bout the same give or take a few SB trophies.

Not aure about this one there are so many variables that i cant answer:

Did carolina eat or restructure and of Jacksons bonus?

What are the corresponding moves?

What does Johnson look like with a conpetent QB?

I was higher on Dionta than most. Sure he makes some bonehead plays and can be a diva but all the metrics show he is great at getting open. He's just never had a good QB in his prime to get him the ball so I don't think we ever fully got to see how good he can be here. There's reports KC wanted him but the Steelers went with the Carolina deal instead. He would have killed it with Mahomes. Probably would have opened some of the haters eyes the way Dotson at a different position did in LA this year.

Initial feeling without knowing any corresponding moves, ''meh''. I'm not so sure Jackson is all that good as a number two CB.

He seems like a JAG, but I don’t think he’s going to hurt the team. This gives us a little more flexibility at the very least. DJ’s time was done here when Smith got hired — not a fit. This draft is a great opportunity to find his replacement.

The more I ponder on this offseason it's becoming clearer that Tomlin has slowly turned the Steelers in the Jets. Hope and pray with a washed up QB, sign a big dollar FA, lose players that star for other teams that they go to.

I could be very wrong, it' will go superbly well or it going to end epically bad. no middle ground this year

We're gonna trade up for Odunze, aren't we lol

I'll tell you what - that dude may very well be a generational one. He's the total package when it comes to a wideout and we'd be really lucky to have him, even though it's not what I would do.

The more moves we make the more I'd try to move up as far as we can to take JPJ.
