Is Morse all that good? I'm not super familiar with him. I know he's obviously better than Cole but I'm curious how good he actually is.
Consensus I'm reading is that while he's a little past his prime, still decent. PFF had him 14th among centers heading into the 2023 season. Better in pass pro than run blocking apparently.

I'd still welcome a "Frazier in the 2nd" draft choice even if they do sign him but it eliminates the need to reach if the guys they want are gone and gives flexibility.

Idle thought but a lot of the C options can play G too and with Daniels' extension coming up, it's not bad to have that option.

Daniels doesn’t like playing C i do think a guard to tqke over from isac is in play next draft depending on Spencer Anderson

I'm not talking Daniels playing C, I'm talking drafting a C/G who might be playing G next year if this year's C signing sticks.

I think Peterson could be an elite safety still. He has lost a step and isn't the corner he once was. I thought he was outstanding when they put him at safety.

With Peterson and Minkah at safety, I'd be comfortable starting a rookie corner.

Now just restructure Cam's deal to create some more cap space to play around with on Monday and we are cooking.
Omar isn't messing around. Love his proactive approach, safety net be damned. The 2 cuts today were absolutely the right moves. As was Cole's release. Holes be damned.

Cutting Peterson is interesting. I can see the argument both ways. I don't think he's a cb anymore. He seems like a guy that can transition to safety but why not just go out and get a real safety at that point. The ufa safety market is absolutely loaded.

If they sign Wilson to a vet minimum deal and sign Morse to a somewhat cheap deal, they could go after a pretty big fish with their cap space. I wonder who they might be targeting.

I’m spending some time over here now. That TDL thread is an abomination, haha.

I’d absolutely be on board with both things. I think Wilson would be fun to watch and if KP can learn a thing or two and grow, maybe he’ll be the starter after this upcoming season. Because I don’t see him beating out Wilson, even at 35.

I think cam gets an extension can give him 7 million aav that campell made this season on his next contract
You will have 30 million in FA to spend can easily get a safety c milb and cb2 and dl depth guy. 7 million for milb 10 million for a safety 8 million cb2 is 25 million

Yeah releasing Robinson and Peterson were obvious decisions because of how insanely stacked the UFA class is this year. Why hitch your money to shitty value players when you could likely get a much better player for the same price?

Sign Wilson for vet minimum then go spend aggressively in UFA.

I'm retreating back into only the Pirates and Steelers threads until the draft

Steelers 4th round picks have been confirmed at 118 and 119.

Obviously every other picks moves as well but they are the highest affected. Before this most thought they would be 120 and 121. Thus they moved up two picks due to less compensentary picks being given out at the end of the 3rd round.

Which year?

I'll tune in for the draft and pre-draft stuff this year, along with the start of free agency.

But yeah, until the team stops being liquid poop, I'll just focus on the Pirates and Steelers off-season. Which should be pretty damning on how bad the Penguins are
