Jesus, why are somewhat respected/established posters completely making **** up today?

There has been no talk of Luongo's trade depending on an unsigned player or anything of the sort. Nothing on Duthie's feed, the only thing is a small chat during today's 'Insider Trading' in which they said Luongo is no closer to being traded, but Philly might be in play if Luongo remains a Canuck until this summer (they'd be buying out Bryz and trading for Lou).

I'm not respected at all so I can say whatever I want.
God no. Just jumping on an easy joke. You know Turris is going to get his minutes and chances, and it's hard to say what kind of minutes Huberdeau will be getting.
Okay cool, that's what I'm doing.

Ottawa's an interesting case. I don't know what to make of them yet. They tanked but then Karlson seemed to come out of nowhere and now they've reinvigorated Turris so maybe they will be the real deal going forward.

I'd keep Turris. He's looked great so far.
That seals it. Turris it is.

Here's the link admittedly not from Duth, I was just mentionning Duthie commenting on it via Twitter which he did with this tweet :

The Insiders have the latest on Luongo on SC. With Gillis' mystery team reference, this has officially become a Scooby-Doo episode. #raggy

Here's the quote from the article

In fact, Gillis said there might be a deal in place for Vancouver’s gold-medal-winning, conference-winning, Vezina contending backup goaltender.
From Cole, the cryptic conversation:
The Luongo trade, or non-trade, which has taken on a life of its own with the way Schneider started the season (five goals on 14 shots before being pulled Saturday), could happen soon, or in a month, or not at all.
We have a potential deal in place with one team that has to do something with another player that they have — and it’s not who anybody thinks it is — and so we have to wait. (But) we’ve been offered packages that don’t fit what our plan is, what we need,” said Gillis.

That has to do something with another players that they have … this would almost seem like a reference to the three unsigned high-profile restricted free agents in the NHL: Jamie Benn of the Dallas Stars, P.K. Subban of the Montreal Canadiens and Ryan O’Reilly of the Colorado Avalanche.

Although right after that the article says : Carey Price says we can rule out that middle team

Isles want to get bigger and tougher down the middle.Desharnais holds no appeal.

Staples had a fan chat on Weds. He says the isles love 6'3 Brock Nelson.

My guess is, they hope one of Strome/Brock Nelson push Frans Nielsen from the 2nd line center spot.

Oh and the fans who propose Leblanc or Kristo for Nino proposals: this isn't fantasy trading on the video game. You have offer something the other gm, would actually want.

you have an unhealthy obsession with leblanc and kristo.

I can see flyers going 5 below .500 at the early part this season. Their play is just torrid. I feel sorry for Bryz since he is the scapegoat and he is probably the least of their problems at the moment. Bryz has not been great but solid. Their D is slow and their forwards aren't scoring or generating really anything.

They did a bad job last summer, they lost Jagr and JVR and only signed Fedotenko to replace them. Add to that Briere not being there to start the year and you have a very offensively challenged team. I expect a trade very soon from the Flyers

I wonder who the mystery team is... I have a hard to believing that it is MTL, COL or DAL. Unless one of those teams has a deal in the works for one of their goalies.

Detroit is getting up the rear. Appearntly Ian White got cut by a skate and it hit muscle. God I hope we don't trade Subban to them.

I'd trade Weber to them for a 2nd :D

They should be given the choice of Kaberle or Weber for one of their skilled prospects. Kaberle for Nyquist anyone? :naughty: Or even Tatar, Jarnkrok or Frk. Or anyone but Pulkkinen really. I don't see them giving up Ouellet for Weber or Kaberle, but asking can't hurt, no?

Colorado just gave a first for Varlamov.

Dallas has Lehtonen.

We have Price.

Unless Dallas is moving Lehtonen, I don't know if this has to do with an unsigned player like Benn. But of the 3, Dallas seems the most likely. The player they currently have may be Lehtonen.

I don't see one of those 3 in the running.

I heard 4 teams...Chicago, Toronto, Florida and Edmonton.

Huge game tonight in Vancouver. Someone will be winless in 3 games after the game between Calgary and Vancouver. Go Canucks Go!

Yeah. Watching nashville and Calgary and hoping for as good a 2nd round as possible in the next draft has given me an easy excuse to watch more western games.

Gretzky was commenting on the game last night in Edmonton. Said it reminded him of playing against Montreal in 1979 when the Oilers were a bunch of youngsters. They were all excited and then lost 7-2 or 7-3.

It takes time for the team to gel. They've got a bunch of high end talent and now it's just finding the intangible pieces (the 3rd liners, the grinders etc) who fill out the roster. He feels good about the state of the team and it's only a matter of time before they become a force. The guys will put it together.

It depends on how well their GM does at filling out the roster.

Right now theirs is a management team that got lucky, very extremely lucky. They still need to fill out a bottom-6, to get some better defense, and that will involve intelligence on the trade market and the UFA market.
