Gleason had 2 really good pre-seasons in a row, I'd say last season he outplayed all 3rd pairing options we had, but we sided with vets and this season he was pretty much equal with the guys he lost a spot to, main difference is he wasn't RHD and was less comfortable playing his offside than Dermott.Purely an AHL defense swap as both players are AHL lifers from here on out.
Attard was putrid in the preseason games he played in which basically earned his ticket to the AHL for the rest of his life.
Gleason hasn’t played an NHL game in 6 years. Since his Dallas days.
Gleason is a good puck mover and has taken a good amount of the risk out of his game, things I'd knock him on are he flubs passes just a touch more than most NHL players and while he has the defensive awareness to read the play he often gives up ideal body position, more focus on tying up sticks than boxing out.
