This is a joke?

I wouldn't do Orelvis for both, let alone one.

I don't want anything to do with France (1B/DH only on a team with Vlad and Belt). I think something like Horwitz for Teo would work.
Yeah, France comes with two extra years of control, but he's also dropped to a 100 wRC+ this year, mainly due to his power completely disappearing. If he were having a season like he had the last three years, it would make sense... but he's not. He's been bad.

Even if you like him as a buy-low candidate who could rediscover some power, trading Orelvis for him isn't buying low.

Only way Jays are adding Orelvis to a deal is if it’s for Verlander or part of a big deal that no one saw coming. And there’s no way I’m trading Tiedemann for a relief pitcher. Kid has the potential to be a top of the rotation guy.

Orelvis and Biggio for Teo and France?

Not sure France is a good fit at the price he'll likely cost. He's uber slow on base i mean not as slow as Kirk but not that far. He lost his power this season. No power. Slow on base. Not sure whay's going on with him this season but at the price he'll cost not sure.

Tiger could and should come away here with at least 2 top 100 prospects maybe 3. They corner the starter market if Verlander isnt available.

Also speaking of Davis Schneider;

Looks like we have the extra bat we need in AAA lol

Maybe you misunderstood. Not saying White is a prospect, rather, since there are a lot of teams who need pitching, the Jays will get a good return for Mitch White when they trade him. I predict the Jays will get a prospects for White and that prospect will be inside a team's top 25.
Have you been watching the same Mitch White as the rest of us?

A reliever with the Braves who had a 108.00 ERA (yeah you read that right) got them 1.1 WAR player Nicky Lopez. Teams always want pitching and crappy teams look for reclamation projects.

I’ve always liked Canha and I think he’d be a decent righty option off the bench. He’s always been able to get on base and has a little bit of pop as well.

Haven’t looked at France’s numbers this year so my mistake. Didn’t think he was having such a bad year and that Orelvis value increased that much.

But the value isn’t completely off.

Maybe the Jays get an arm or prospect back.

Teo and France would fit big needs.

Vs LHP OPS+
Teo: 149
France: 136

For comparison:
Bichette: 143
Chapman: 129
Vladdy: 105
Kirk: 104
Espinal: 97
Whit: 95
Jansen: 82
Springer: 76

Doesn’t seem like a good return. Arizona’s 19th and 29th prospects with a light hitting 29 year old infielder

Jays Equivalent would have been Biggio, a better Horwitz and Davis Schneider.

I'm not trading Orelvis for three years of a platoon 1B.

The nice thing about this deadline and the way the team is constructed is that the hole they need to fill is a niche role (hitting LHP) that they should be able to fill without trading their top prospects. Just trade some longshot prospect for Teo or another guy like that.

If you think he is a platoon, then yeah it’s a non starter. But he was a 3.1 WAR player in 2022 and 4.4 WAR in 2021. His career vs RHP split is only a 9 point different vs his LHP split.

It could be a buy low on both France and Teo and a sell high on Orelvis.

Problem is, after this season you only have France left from the deal.

And as a 1B/DH only, where does he play? Basically Orelvis for a non-starting/platoon bat.

That's not really selling high on Orelvis IMO.

Belt is a free agent. He could be your DH. And like I said averaged close to 4 WAR per season in 2021 and 2022, that will play.

So Seattle are officially sellers. With the season he's having, Teo can't be too expensive...

OPSing .644 against righties and .883 against lefties. Seems like a perfect fit for what we need...

They should be able to get Teoscar (or a similar player) to address their biggest need this year for very cheap. If I'm dealing Orelvis, I'm doing it to address a bigger long-term need.

If Orelvis for France was literally the only deal available, I would pass and take my chances with Schneider.

He won't be in the Belt role. I see Springer (and to a lesser extent Kirk) needing a lot of DH days in the very near future to keep them fresher. So I can't see a path to significant playing time for France.

In fact, I would go as far to say one of Springer's main issues this season is that he's playing the outfield too much as it is, and he's wearing down after not playing a full season in many years.
