… because of his 1G/2A in 6 games?
You get all your hockey knowledge and self scouting from your smart phone stats screens.
And FYI Laff is tied in goals with Matthews .... look that one up while your bashing the early season stats of a 21 year old.

As yes the classic failing prospect excuse:

Late bloomer, looks good.
Leave Zadina out if this 😉

We all know Zadina sucks. That’s the difference.

All you ever hear from NYR fans is “pffttt you don’t watch, he’s amazing”. Hard to watch him when he’s scratched.

If you can’t see the difference between Matthews lack of goal scoring so far this season after his career so far vs Kakko not producing again after a couple 30pt pace seasons then I can’t help you.

Both Lafreniere (who I actually think has shown something, just not the score sheet) and Kakko, to this point, have been some of the bigger disappointments for 1st & 2nd overall picks of all time.

I can see the difference. A little sarcasm.
But yea, Agree to disagree. I tend to give prospects time before righti g them off....regardless of where they were drafted.
Maybe KK is another Zadina .....but I doubt it.

If their kids take the next step, look out.

K’Andre Miller is becoming a great dman as well.

Lafreniere 3 points in 6 games (3rd season)
Kakko 2 points in 6 games (4th season)
I'm extremely happy with how Kakko is playing this season. He set up our two best chances last night and naturally, neither of them fell.

If the Rangers stick with him in the top six instead of over ass reacting to PDO like always, he'll get points.

He’s in year 4. At what point is he what he is? (Offensively speaking)

Top 6 = Very good

Bottom 6 = average

Dcore = good but not much beyond Fox/Trouba/Miller

Goaltending = very good

Coaching = good

Overall they’re definitely one of the better teams in the East and a Cup run is possible.

But “perfect” ?!?! LOL….ur joking right?

They could use some added depth at the TDL, just like last season when they added Copp, Motte, etc.
I think the reason fans are high on the Rangers is that they are one of few teams who can boast the following:

Top 1 goalie in the whole league
Top 5 Defenseman
Top 5 Winger
Top 10 Center

You basically have one elite, rare player in every position, which basically never happens in this sport. Rangers fans have every right to be among the most bullish of fans.

I personally don't think they have enough depth at basically any position, which tends to be important, but I guess we'll see how impoartant that is.

I simply do not see any weaknesses in the Rangers roster this season, they are solid in every department. In my mind they are the best team in the East and only the Avs match them.

Vezina winning goalie in Shestyorkin

Norris winning defender in Fox

Elite 1C in Zibanejad

Elite 1W in Panarin

Great 2C in Trocheck

50 goal scorer in Kreider

Big physical presence in Blais, Reeves, Trouba

Elite young players in Lafreniere, Kakko, Kravtsov

Deadly power play and solid penalty kill

Great coaching by Gallant

Not the best start to the year, but I think the Rangers will def. be a team to watch out for this year.

Uhhh did Vasi retire? He had a great season but it was a season... Vasi has been doing it for years and won several cups and went to the Finals several times.

Shesterkin looks human so far this year as well
