Yes. This has gotten so much publicity the poor girl will never live it down. The sentencing and suspensions will tell us enough about the culpable parties. I’d just like to see the actual victim have a chance to avoid reliving this for the rest of her life if that’s even possible anymore.

But we don’t know her identity. Her identity isn’t the issue here

Sorry but the angry mob takes precedent.

The nerve of some people. Expecting rapists to face consequences. Makes me sick!

Can't we just all pretend that giving them a slap on the wrists behind the scenes would actually be the best thing for the victim?

But seriously, what is the angle here? What punishment could be given that fits the severity of the crime but also doesn't out them? Just pretend that they were suspended for some other random reason?

Yeah that's exactly what I meant (eye roll)

I never said they shouldn't face consequences but how is that your business?

I hope they all get life time bans if found guilty of what they did but knowing the NHL as being a bush league they will get a slap on the wrist(suspension regardless of length) and they will call it a day.

If they're found guilty of what's alleged against them, they'll get not only bans/suspensions but also prison sentences (and, well, extradited too).

But yeah, suspension during the trial. Very obviously. Or termination with cause.

Why protect the identities of these guys? They aren’t covered by the YCJA
Poster wasn’t saying hiding identities, that doesn’t even really matter, if a player isn’t playing for a year, fans will realize why.

Poster was talking about not releasing details of what happened in the room,

Because as a paying customer of the league I want to know that they won't let rapists go unpunished?

I'll ask again. What is a reasonable punishment that could be levied that won't out who the players involved are?

You realize they committed a crime here ? A pretty horrible one at that. These guys hit the lotto if all they're getting is a suspension and not actual jail time for what they did.
Charges would have been laid and as a result identities revealed. A crime = jail which clearly is not the case here.

My guy, why is it you always default to this?

If someone does something heinous, why is your first reaction “that f***ing woke mob strikes again”? That’s f***ed up.
Not a woke mob this time around...just your run of the mill mob.

When did I ever say the players shouldn't be outed? I'd say once the legal process is finished and their guilt is proven. But there is a reason we don't let angry members of the public make those decisions.

Some of y'all are so invested in this as if it affects you personally. It's kinda weird.

How would a player even rehab their image from something like this? They would have to become a saint in the public eye

You're basically suggesting that these players should get privacy and identity protection that nobody obtains unless they're in the witness protection program (on top of being charged).

Second chances/forgiveness were part of a society that doesn't exist anymore.

Nothing these players ever say or do will be enough for the mob so its in their best interests to move to another country in a new career or hockey league. Even if he chose another career at home the cult members will track him down and boycott the employer until hes fired.

That's some serious virtue-signalling.
