So it’s like 4 possible players if I remember correctly that didn’t come out with statements.

I’m presuming those the ones
What’s that prospect from ottawa?
5 or 6 I recall them saying.
Statements mean nothing, if guilty.

Why has the window passed for anything criminal? There is no statute of limitations on criminal or civil charges on sexual assault in Canada, if that is what you are referring to.
Not talking about legally, statute of limitations type thing, I'm talking about practically whatever conduct was like 5 years now and there are practical human limitations on the collection of evidence to elevate beyond a he said/she said.

A lot of statements were full of lawyer-speak anyways. Saying you didn’t take part in any “wrongdoing” doesn’t mean you weren’t there.

I'll save you the trouble of reading the article when it comes out.

"The league has reviewed the findings and, in light of the severity of what has been alleged, are levying a penalty they find equally harsh. The players involved will be suspended for all remaining off-season games and will forfeit any game checks they would have received over that period. The players involved will not be named at this time (or ever)."
Just so I understand this correctly. U know facts and everything.. and I quote, "The league, In light of the severity of what's ALLEGED , are levelling a penalty they find equally as harsh." Well I guess that's where we are in this day and age . A penalty as harsh, as an alleged incident. Hope I'm wrong..
And before all the pitch forks come out. No I don't agree with rape or sexual assault .NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW ,BUT NO ONE IS BELOW IT EITHER...

You realize they committed a crime here ? A pretty horrible one at that. These guys hit the lotto if all they're getting is a suspension and not actual jail time for what they did.
Just one question. Did u bother to read the press release? It said an alleged assault ,not a charge and conviction of an assault.

Why wouldn't there be jail time? No criminal investigation?

I’ve heard rumours that the suspensions will be the public punishment but the league is basically telling teams to avoid these players if they can. Some teams don’t want the negative PR or distraction so they are already distancing themselves. I’ve heard rumours that it will be full year suspensions for the players.

Yeah, I don't think anyone took that stance. That sounds much like people who didn't agree with "hang them all before we know anything" inventing what the other side is saying.

LOL oh, they have and they will. You haven’t following this very closely and have some extreme blinders on.

That @GordonGraham guy does it every thread.

There are a few tiers of players from that roster and it will be interesting to see if only the tweener types and depth players get thumbed in this or if the NHL would actually make a player with a bit of real success face the music as well.

Jesus, one year?

That's not going to be enough for some of them.

I know why one of them is, I won’t say the name incase my source is wrong but like, some decent players that will be punished.

It’ll be a year suspension from the league but the teams are allowed to do more, I think they can technically end the contracts for breach (possibly)? The suspension will be the front facing public suspension but for some the punishment will be getting nothing for contract.

Gotcha, I definitely agree with that.

Suspensions???

If the context is as bad as it sounds I'd hope for complete bans.

Sexual assault is no joke but that would set a massive precedent for the league.

Craig MacTavish was allowed to continue playing, then coach, then GM in this league and he literally killed someone.

Complete ban was never going to happen and is a bit much.
