The best outcome is if we win the lottery, get a piece to build around and create a dynasty. Then who cares what Chicago does? The best revenge is living well.
During years when the Blues stink, I’m going to take satisfaction from watching our chief rival stink and wallow in (hopefully) a futile rebuild.

They can win the lottery, and the Blues pick 8th, but maybe the Blues’ pick becomes a HOF player and the #1 overall busts. There are lots of ways it can work out in our favor. I just want to watch the Blackhawks burn. Weren’t you one of the people who were outraged by the league’s handling of the sexual abuse case?

Thanks! I really appreciate the friendly gang here. We commiserate together, and celebrate, too. We need some more Cup-winning teams to celebrate!

I expect the Blues to stay near .500 for the remainder of the season
I agree, I think it will be a lot like last season. There will be stretches where they look awful and we will all be clamoring for a lottery pick, then there will be stretches where they look great and we get our hopes up that maybe this is a playoff team after all, but in the end we will likely end up right in the mushy middle, not bad enough for a lottery pick and not good enough for the playoffs. Such is life in the middle of a retool.

pretty much, but I still have hopes to shoot lower. we saw what injuries can quickly do and how thin they are.

Hope everyone is doing well, and a pre happy Thanksgiving to HFBlues

Was just wondering how Texier has been for you? His statline looks pretty in line with what he was here, but his play on ice was always a bit more nuanced than just stat watching. How’s he been and do you like him long term?
He hasn’t been good at all, thus why he’s found himself back in the press box recently.

Early in the season he showed a couple decent flashes but he just doesn’t play with enough structure out there. And when he’s not scoring, he’s not contributing in any other way so as of now, definitely does not look like a long-term fit here.

Very bland player. At first glance you can see he's a somewhat skilled player and good skater who forechecks, but it rarely translates into anything meaningful. He's not producing enough to play in the top 6 or even top 9 and we've got more than enough 4th line caliber guys who are better defensively than him.

An underwhelming start for him but I'm not ready to totally give up on him yet. Getting injured after a couple of games didn't do him any favors as he hasn't found a groove.

That’s surprising to me. When he was on here, he was a forechecking beast. He was also able to protect pucks in corners and keep plays alive. It wasn’t always consistent but it was there. Sucks he’s not working out. Always liked the player

Best of luck moving forward with your new coach

I think he would be good if we played him on the 3rd line but we've had him playing 2nd line and I do believe occasional 1st line due to injuries.

He looks like an NHL'er with good size, hands and skill.

Then you watch him play and want him to be a healthy scratch for the rest of his contract. Complete and utter disappointment. I hope he's waived, but his $2M salary would likely keep him from being claimed. Thus far, he's been a total whiff of a reclamation project.

Fun fact, per NaturalStatTrick, Kyrou is actually killing it 5v5 this year. Currently sitting tied at 16th in the league at 14 points 5v5 at 327 Minutes. Comparing that to other players around the league...

Kyrou 14 Points 327 Minutes
McDavid 14 Points 311 Minutes
Draisaitl 15 Points 360 minutes
Panarin 16 Points 290 Minutes
Rantanen 14 Points 348 Minutes
MacKinnon 12 Points 366 Minutes
Nylander 12 Points 293 Minutes
Connor 12 Points 317 Minutes

You do know that you're not allowed to use logical arguments to support Kyrou here, right?

Nobody wants to accept that because our power play sucks, Kyrou's output will never match expectations for his contract...
