I think this is the risk Kevyn is putting on the line knowing he will have to shell out for Dahlin and also likely Power in the next couple years. If we bridge Tage and he repeats last season, the long term squeeze gets a lot tighter. If you believe he's a core piece, shave off where you can. Let's just hope Adams is right.

You're right this is as much about tage as it is a carrot for Dahlin after this year.. If were lucky.. Power , Muel .. Mitts after bridge etc. .. You can have 5 guys making 7 to 8 .. F the Leafs

So there will be two types of RFAs the next several years, the Olofssons who will hit UFA before 30, and the Thompsons who will hit UFA after 30. With all the blue chip players in the system that call will have to be made a few times each offseason.

Do you flip a guy like Olofsson before or during their last season if you are a legit playoff team? I think so. But a guy like Tage will play out the entire contract and go to UFA.

Over the next 8 seasons any season where he doesn't score 30 would be a disappointment. This guy can create his own scoring chances and should be taking 5 or 6 shots a game, period.

It really is. Look at what a 31 year old Kadri just got after a career year by a wide wide margin. 87 points this season, previous career high was 61 back in 16-17.

Cap was 39M in 2006; it'll be close to 90M in 2023 when this deal starts. Comparatively this is about what Hecht got when he signed in '08.

The Sabres rewarding young players who excel is pretty exciting. If we can continue to build in-house, and reward our developed players, than this bodes well for the long term future. I'm not a crazy big fan of the money on this deal, but I'm thinking that this will send messages in the locker room that if you take care of your shit, then the Sabres will take care of you.
