I know this won't be a popular opinion. But the wolves are doing a real good job limiting the amount of shots. Vondras has to show more. He made some nice saves, but he also keeps letting in goals that should not go in at the OHL level.

Also, what an embarrassing dive by McCallum. I guess the real embarrassment is the ref bought it.

Good call, not sure how I forgot about Battaglia. I've liked him every time I've seen him. Too many prospects not enough braincells.
Not a bad thing for the fronts for next year and year after. Wont complain

Sucks giving NB a point, but still a big win. Gotta improve on closing out leads. Don't take Niagara lightly this Friday
Niagara is a lot better this year. And I think a big part is their goalie Flores. He went from one of the worst goalies in the league to statically one of the better ones. Huge leap for him

3rd period thoughts and OT thought..

McCallum SHOOT?!?!?!?

Villeneuve OZ draw winning machine (10/14 total on the draws tonight). Nice scoring chance off the Walton touch pass. I thought he was their most complete forward tonight.

I liked Walton's 2nd and 3rd periods more than his 1st. I thought he was more engaged physically and in the rough areas as the game progressed. I would like to see him finish his hits, especially on defenders who are making the outlet pass. It makes them think twice the next time the puck comes to them and with such a big body he should be using it.

Protz very reliable out there. Doesn't make many mistakes. Skates the puck out of his own zone decently. Nice D to D and back + zone exit.

Caden Taylor help on the draw in the NZ, good scoring chance, bad penalty

The pucks gotta get out the first few attempts in the last minute there.. led to back to back icings.

Anania verrrrrry patient on the zone entry and finds a streaking Musty for a crafty finish. 15 seconds into OT. Wolves grab the 2nd point but need to start games stronger. Hopefully they can use some of the Chromiak return for a physical aggressive forechecker.

Goaltending looks like it is not up to standard to make any kind of serious run.
We have 2 average goalies by OHL standards it seems, hope I am wrong.

Great OT Goal, but we can do without the verbals afterwards. Better ways to pay them back is the goal you scored tonight. You wanna make a statement, then out work and punish them at every opportunity for 60 mins!

Wrong

If you had to pick, which 3 OA combo would you go with?

1. Toure, Anania, McCallum
2. Toure, Anania, Mayer
3. Toure, Anania, Martin

I think you can eliminate option 3. The current LW-C options are;
Musty-Dvorsky
Goyette/Delic-Delic/MaCallum. (Konyen)
Walton-Vlenueve. (Pharrand)
Taylor
I believe the wolves would be better with Goyette driving a line rather than a compliment to Musty and Dvorsky. I’d like upgrade to be RW and/or first pair D

Wolves in a good position with draft pick ammo:

2024.. KIT 2nd, HAM 3rd, SBY 4th
2025.. SBY 2nd, KGN 2nd, SBY 3rd, BAR 4th, SBY 5th
2026.. FLNT 2nd, SBY 3rd, NIA 3rd, SSM 3rd, WSR 3rd, SBY 5th, ER 5th
2027.. SBY 2nd, KGN 2nd, SBY 3rd, SBY 4th, SBY 5th

Also Wolves should recoup three picks at some point.. SBY 3rd 24, SBY 2nd 26, SBY 4th 26 (all picks conditional depending on if or when Hage reports).

Wolves ready to buy buy buy

The Petes are not going to trade all their top players for what they can get for them. The only player will almost certainly trade is Owen Beck. The others will be if the offer is right. They are not a bottom of the standings team that everybody thought they would be and have a realistic chance of winning the East Division this year. Everybody exempt the Petes themselves have said this is a rebuilding year for Peterborough.
Oke will work hard to get the best deals possible but the draft cupboard and talent pool carrying over to next year will be pitiful if he doesn't. Winning the east this year is of no relevance to anyone but a select group of fans who do not understand the basic principles of a cycle.

So.. no idea on Hage's desire to play for a winner, but presently the leading scorer on the Chicago Steel... which is 2nd last place overall in the USHL. Is that a dead horse ... ?

I don't know how you can say that, Vondras has been average, the stats show it. I think he has the potential to be better, but given the shots he's facing, I'd expect him to be better.
Totally agree have not seen any early signs of him being able to steal a game he makes big saves and then let’s in softies. Most goalies do this but the elite ones win you games that you should have lost.To be a serious contender you need an elite goaltender, let’s hope he turns into one. Fingers crossed.

5 th in GAA, 12th SAV%. Currently better stats than Dom DiVincentiis.

Watching the coaching staff behind the bench last night was laughable. We lost the first period 2-0 because the first line had three shifts.

They are so out of touch they don’t even know our first line is the best in the O and can play anybody. All they cared about the whole game was matching Arnsby lolllllllll

Not going anywhere in the playoffs with these coaches…
