Housley's fault. Lindgren's fault. Laviolette's fault. Drury's fault. Anyone else? Let's add Peca and Muse. Dolan's fault.

Fox never gets any flak.
I’ve been guilty of this. I was giving him a pass in the beginning of the season thinking it might be related to the two knee injuries he sustained last season.
Latlely I noticed that it seems he’s having a delayed reaction to the play in front of him. In recent games there were plays in the O-Zone where his attention seemed elsewhere and when the puck was sent to his area of the ice he delayed in responding and an opposing player was by him with the puck.
Something is definitely off and it doesn’t appear to be physical. Not good for a player whose hockey IQ is the strongest part of his game.

Brannstrom wasnt acquired by accident. Lindgren's days are numbered imo. They still do need to eventually upgrade that top 4 position next to Fox.

He may be one of the few D in the league this year who has been worse than Lindgren.

With who?

What is nyr trading for that player?

IMO I think lindgren & his reputation is worth more than a 2nd. Esp if you package him with smith, like sjs did for granland & cici. I think if you do that you should be able to get a return that can help now & in the future. Say both those player to col for dehaan(contract depth d to replace lindgren) & a prospect like Ritchie or gulyayav or to the wild for dermott/merril & one of heidt/kivahrju/stramel. So basically a 3rd pair d and then you slide up up player like Schneider to replace lindgren

The new salary cap projections will most likely make moving contracts easier. The $95.5M is set in stone unless the idiot in the White House is responsible for taking the loonie with his stupid tariffs.

The $104M and $113.5M salary cap projections are probably low. The NHL and NHLPA statement sid mention those numbers could be adjusted up or down. EF reported people believe those numbers will be higher.

The average NHL salary will be higher. Assigning a player to the AHL will be cheaper. The NHL average salary plus $375,000 will be higher.

Looking for possible trade candidates. Kevin Fiala. Four seasons remaining. He hasn't really found a spot in LA. $7,875,000 cap hit. He has a NMC. He is not a tall player at 5-10 but he is a stocky player at 205 pounds. I have always liked him since his Nashville days. He hasn't been a big time playoff performer. Good skater. Competes. Fiala has played left wing most of his NHL career. Can he play the right side? Gabe Perreault is a smaller winger. Can the Rangers have both of them on the left side?

Mika Zibanejad's five more seasons at $8.5M for Fiala. The Kings move Quinton Byfield to the wing. LA is nice. Would Mika waive? It's not Vancouver, BC.

Chris Kreider's two more seasons at $6.5M for Fiala. Kreider has a 15 team NTC. I assuming LA is not on his NTC.

Both bros need to go. They don't fit anymore. Kreider can't hit the net anymore.

Artemi Panarin at $11,642,857. It would be hard to make that deal this season unless the Rangers take on Trevor Moore's $4.2M for three more seasons to match up the money. Pass. The Rangers trade Panarin to LA to extend the asset like Colorado did with Mikko Rantanen. It would be nice if the Rangers could get Brandt Clarke in the deal. Summer trade. LA needs to win a playoff series. I don't see them beating Edmonton or even Vegas, Winnipeg and Dallas in the west. Artemi likes big cities. LA? The Kings give him a 2 or 3 year contract extension at the same cap hit on July 1 in return for waiving his NMC. He would go.

Beating on Lindgren is beating a dead horse. Hes awful.

Zibanejad looked really good last night, and especially good at RW. I wonder if getting out of the 1C spot takes pressure off him and allows him to just play his game for where he’s at right now.

Also, this obviously means 3C is an open spot. They’re a few games out of a WC, but still not completely out of it. Really curious to see what Drury does. This is kinda where not drafting and developing Centers is coming to bite us in the ass.

EF confirmed Arthur Staple's report that Vancouver wanted Drew Fortesque in the original deal. EF said he heard Vancouver wanted an unsigned Rangers prospect D in the original JT Miller deal The Rangers did not want to move Fortesque. Victor Mancini replaced Fortesque in the second Miller deal. It wasn't Adam Sykora or Jaroslav Chelmar.

The Rangers could package both Smith and Lindgren in a deal for futures and not really skip a beat. Miller replaces Smith on PK. Schneider moves next to Fox. Berard replaces Smith. Or maybe put Kaliyev back in the lineup. Othmann? He is healthy and scoring goals.
