Disappointed with the lack of composure tonight. Even with the effort Tampa has put forward, we have been the ones making silly mistakes allowing them to take advantage. All three goals were gifts. 1st one, Muzzin and Brodie take eachother out and Campbell fell over. 2nd one was a complete breakdown on coverage and the third one Kampf had a brain cramp by passing to a guy with no stick.

Tampa has been way more competitive, but we have gotten away from playing a clean game. Our compete is no lower, but we do have a couple guys who are MIA; even with that this should not be 3-1.

Leafs don't have the same jump tonight. Not throwing big hits. Crowd isn't as loud as game 1 there just isn't the same energy in the building

I think the Leafs are playing pretty well overall and you can't say they aren't playing their hearts out. The difference is Tampa has raised their level as well and Vasi is making some very good saves for them otherwise Leafs would have a goal or two more by now.

What a great idea, can't wait for Tampa to beat the shit out of all our players. Without Simmonds and Clifford our forward group is incredibly soft. Look at the rest of the teams in the playoffs they all have tough guys in their forward group. Soft is not the way to go to win a Stanley cup

if you are going to be costing the team games you got to sit

Gm's push decisions that make them look good.

Dubas can't rationalize an 11 million dollar contract on someone we relegate to the 4th line and doesn't produce. So instead we put Tavares in every position possible to succeed to try and rationalize the contract Dubas gave him. It doesn't matter if it's a hindrance to the team.
He just wrapped up a ~ppgish season where he ranked 2nd in face offs and 1st in won puck battles, two important aspects to gaining/keeping possession. All while having some terrible slumps.

No, this is worrisome.

It seems Tampa watched all of those videos from Boston series. Columbus series. Montreal series. They learned how to take away space and render our star players irrelevant. It's very worrisome.

Can our star players FINALLY learn to overcome playoff defensive hockey? I hope so. But... yeah. I won't say what I really think will happen. Prove me wrong boys. You f***s.

Nothing you’re saying is accurate. Give it up

Pretty obvious now why Tampa was so confident coming into game 2. Leafs play a no-hitting speed game all regular season. Entering the playoffs they just don't know how to effectively do physical play-off hockey. Can't make it your new style in just a few games.

Tampa mixes in grinding all year then it's just play by muscle memory in post-season.

That said, Leafs best hope is Tampa is too mentally and physically fatigued from two full Cup runs to sustain this kind of effort in all the following games. Could be. And, Leafs are still trying their best, no quit in them, they just appear confused as to how to crack this nut.
