We have 4 fights this year, #28 in hockey.
This organization does not allow aggression to be part of the game. While I would never want Kane on this team, even if they did get him it would be a total waste of his talent.
Keefe and Dubas are the issue...they encourage this style.
I do not recall any Cup winners being so timid.
Face washes are part of hockey.

How about Sharks like: Timo Meier, Jacob Middleton and Zack Sawchenko?

Or...some combination of assets we need while addressing potential financial constraints that will arise if a certain player isn't moved...rather than...wondering what this dude could bring that would cast an illusion of forgetting everything else every other team has failed to control to their ultimate detriment?

This is utter nonsense.

Yes. Elite offensive talent that adds a much needed element of toughness in their top 6 at the weakest position on LW... and most importantly, the cost to acquire will be low relative to what he can bring.

He’s in a desperate spot to save his career and get to another contract to fix his financial issues… I expect he’d be on his best behaviour, at least for a time.. and if he isn’t, waive him. Given the long history of issues, they may even have a case to void his contract depending on the circumstances.

Low risk, high reward. Easy yes.

First voted no, changed to yes. get him if they can make something work. Asshat? Apparently. More high end talent in the lineup for the run this year? Yes, please.

Tend to trust a judge and or jury than your personal opinion, if he's cleared then tf are you complaining about? That's the point of the justice system

Where there’s smoke there’s fire. This shit has been going on since BEFORE he was drafted. Dude is worse than cancer

Kane is an Oiler. No need for this thread anymore.

I wouldn’t be so sure. Depending on how long it takes to clear up his situation it may be too late for his addition. Second, if I saw the look on McDavids face after yesterday’s loss to the Sens (pure joy from a fan the hates the Oiler faithful) I’d be second guessing where I would want to pull on that jersey over my head.

If Kane wants anonymity then he likely goes to Florida, if he wants to make a splash and play in front of a fan base that really cares and where he could really make a difference then it’s a place like here. I have been up for him in the past because I think he brings exactly what we need a big, physical, agitating type forward who isn’t afraid to mix it up but has the ability to actually put it in the net. He would only be here for 4-6 months and in that small dose I think we could extract just enough to get us over the hump but not poison the room with his shenanigans.

Bunting AM Marner
Kane JT Nylander
Mikheyev Kerfoot Kase
Engvall Kampf Spezza

While Kampf has been an amazing acquisition moving him to the forth line would do wonders for our depth. Kerfoot with two defensively focused forwards would be a great 3C.

Kerfoot is much MUCH better on the wing

So you would say Carolina,, Washington, Pittsburgh,, St Louis all have no chancr of winning the cup since they all have less fights or 1 more than the Leafs.

Teams that lead in fights, Kracken,, Ottawa, there are your true cup contenders..

I fully agree with this, but the Oilers are acting like the deal is already done. Who knows.

I despise the Oilers and that fan base as well. They are intolerable and do nothing but troll the Leafs on the main board.

Oiler fans are the worst Canadian fans. Ironically, I have found Calgary fans to be the most reasonable and objective in the hotbed of hockey called Canada.

Two cities, same province, entirely different demeanour.

Let's see how many face washes Crosby is allowed to get, or what Tom Wilson might say about Washington goalie being run.
Once you establish your toughness you use it to influence games against lessor talented teams. But first you must show it. How many times are teams allowed to charge at Campbell before Holl does something.

Tampa has 12 vs our 4
Boston 11
Rangers 11
Nashville 23 is leader.
Tampa has won a cup or so I recall.
You can stop your ridicule now.

I’d be fine with trying to add Kane, two things happen, one he fits well with our top 6 and brings some much needed skill and toughness on the left side at a reasonable cost. Two he continues the same attitude issues and doesn’t fit in which translates to a lack of production on the ice and he gets buried in the minors or traded. I think with our cap it’s a smart play to try and sign him
