blah blah loser talk. They're the nonsense, not Kane.Edmonton was desperate to get a player of his quality to go to Edmonton, especially on a discount. There was less than a 0% chance of us being in on him because of the headaches he brings with him. Toronto does not like or support controversial players. MLSE and Rogers do not want to deal with that nonsense.
And now they were kicked out of the first round (again) and Edmonton is on its way to the western conference finals. Congrats the the Toronto Maple Leafs and all of MLSE for showing excellent judgment. I cant wait for the "Took Tampa to 7" banner to be raised to the rafters!!!Edmonton was desperate to get a player of his quality to go to Edmonton, especially on a discount. The crackpots in the media would've had a meltdown had the Leafs brought him to Toronto. At the time it seemed like such a bad and unnecessary risk but in hindsight would have probably put us over the top. That’s how it goes sometimes.
Sometimes your roster needs that player who keeps things on edge a little bit. This team is too comfortable with status quo.
How can Edmonton pay him?Yes Dubas should and no he isn't leaving Edmonton.
it’s often a fine line between the two. i give credit to a bold management that can see the value in acquiring this type of player. i mean, the issues are there, but he’s a good player. At the time it seemed like such a bad and unnecessary risk but in hindsight would have probably put us over the top. everyone knows evander kane is a very good hockey player. the issue is, his short shelf life on any team he plays for, due to his attitude and bad personal decisions. his top tier play shouldn’t surprise anyone. but it’s still very early on this edmonton stint. hopefully he breaks the cycle and smartens up. edm can be a very good fit for him.I don't recall too many posters on here wanting him when he was available. Hindsight changes minds, I guess.
So true. And now they were kicked out of the first round (again) and Edmonton is on its way to the western conference finals. Congrats the the Toronto Maple Leafs and all of MLSE for showing excellent judgment. I cant wait for the "Took Tampa to 7" banner to be raised to the rafters!!!
Why would he sign for $5M per year when he could possibly get double that?I'd offer him 5 mill for 3 years. Contract ends when Tavares contract does and Muzzins contract ends a year earlier accommodating the Matthews and Nylander raises.
Kane isn't going to get 10 million with all of his baggage. I see 6 max for no more then 4 years. Why would he sign for $5M per year when he could possibly get double that?
He was making 7 in San Jose before his contract was terminated, and his playoff performance will easily get him back to that.Kane isn't going to get 10 million with all of his baggage. I see 6 max for no more then 4 years.
I wouldnt want Kane long term at 7. Guess we won't have to worry about it.He was making 7 in San Jose before his contract was terminated, and his playoff performance will easily get him back to that.
