Tampa has 12 vs our 4
Boston 11
Rangers 11
Nashville 23 is leader.
Tampa has won a cup or so I recall.
You can stop your ridicule now.

Not ridicule. Those teams have a chance to win as do the teams I listed.

Whether you fight or not means nothing when it comes to winning.

However, team toughness and willingness to compete and do what it takes to win does

You are correct, but Keefe does not like aggression, he lives power plays.
There are times when aggression is required. Is that mot the reason why everyone wanted Ritchie gone. Does score, slow skater, but if he took the body, made other teams pay, did some face wash to protect Marner, Campbell etc, and showed emotion against other teams when we were not prepared to play, he would be a regular.

I know Kane is expected to sign in Edmonton, but I came across this so thought I'd share. It isn't all that insightful, he avoids the questions regarding his violation of Covid protocols, but he answers questions regarding domestic abuse and gives "his" truth. The interview is 34 minutes long. There is 2 parts, the 2nd part isn't out yet.

The Shift: Evander Kane - Part 1

He would’ve been a perfect fit, but I get why we didn’t pursue him. Hope he does well with the Oilers, but despise that team with a passion.

The very short preview that was on TSN this morning was brutal. His whole response to the vaccine passport “was an error in judgment “, did you provide a fake vaccine passport “it was an error in judgment “. Sorry but you don’t get to respond by not answering the question.

He is an extremely talented player but a narcissist and based on his reported actions not a very good teammate. About the only part of the interview I will give him credit for is standing up for himself regarding some of the comments made about him by Jeff O’Neil. Jeff doesn’t know anything about Evander’s relationship between his daughter and him. Jeff should ask him to come on TSN and apologize at the start of the segment.

He doesn't owe the media anything after their role in ensuring the world hates him.

His only concern is convincing the Oilers and by extension the NHL that he was worth signing. That will happen in private and on-ice.

He doesn't owe anyone anything, sure. But he also always acts like a victim. This man is in his 30's now and still acts like a child. It should say something when his teammates have hated him for a decade and he's bounced around the league despite his elite talent. What card does he have left to play? Because he's used most of them up.

You are correct he doesn’t owe the media anything but TSN and Sportsnet will want to discuss him and his joining the Oilers-maybe that is the main focus. As said I think O’Neil owes him an apology and having him on the overdrive show would be a score for hockey fans.

He has an image issue and who knows if it is repairable but if he is playing in Canada he will need to have some availability and maybe it might help. Ultimately he needs to be a great teammate and player and keep the distractions out.

Being one of the absolute best power forwards in the world is a pretty good card…

Nick Ritchie probably wouldn’t be a regular, every time he tries to play with aggression he takes a stupid penalty.

Don't worry, Kane is the one who made the world hate him, not the media.

So despite some teams sniffing around, he only got a contract offer from the most desperate team in the league.

Not a surprise.

Edmonton already seems like they are in complete disfunction, they really had nothing to lose by trading to add a good player. Probably the best fit for Kane tbh.
As much as I wanted his powerforward style with us, he wouldn't make it in this media market imo. Excited to see what we possibly add at the trade deadline.

Oiler fans are the worst Canadian fans. Ironically, I have found Calgary fans to be the most reasonable and objective in the hotbed of hockey called Canada.

Two cities, same province, entirely different demeanour.

Last season that was the one thing Leafs and Habs fans agreed on, that Oilers fans were actually the worst.

The team needs another physical presence that can actually play in the top 6 - heck the top line.

Imagine one of the Tkachuks with Matthews and Marner?

12g in 11 playoff games so far the guy is feasting on the Flames. He is really building that next contract. Safe to say if the Leafs had an interest they couldn't afford him. Good for him though.

Changes vote to yes grab him.
