Peter Chirelli / Claude Julien rumoured for a while. Talks about moving to town and buying a house, being seen at CTC, etc. Who knows if any of it's true.

I could see Julien for a year or two to get things going in the right direction, with a plan to move it to one of the new assistant coaches (someone Andlauer knows from his other teams?).

I could see Chiarelli coming in as an "interim" GM/consultant, similar to what Cliff Fletcher did in Toronto years ago, while a long-term replacement for PD waits until the summer.

They'd probably want someone who has relationships with other GMs, and Staois probably doesn't have those yet.

The suspension is from start of this season. So he's not signed, he's not playing, yet his suspension games have already been clicking?

Andy why can't players bet on other sports? It's literally a legal thing now in many places and heavily advertised everywhere including during NHL games and tv broadcasts.

Well, apparently the league told the team not to sign him when the investigation ramped up this summer, so my understanding is he'd have been signed if not for the league stepping in.

The suspension and presumably all the other details were apparently negotiated between the team, league and player, hense why Pinto isn't appealing.

Won't happen. It will turn out that the name on the contract to purchase the team was Andlauer, but it was Pierre Andlauer because Pierre changed his last name to Andlauer and bought the team. He is here forever, along with Melnyk's ghost, and those Coldplay CDs.

Chiarelli is not a bad choice as GM at all so long as they intend to ask him what he would do and then do the exact opposite of that.
