Vegas fan, I come in peace.

Just want to mention that with all your talk about Reaves, I don't think he will be in the lineup in at least the 1st game. He was skating in the "5th line" during practice with a couple guys coming back from injury. Carrier is likely taking Reaves role in the lineup as he is quick and is a magnet in drawing penalties against opponents. Reaves and Oscar Lindberg seem to be odd men out.

I figured Gallant was too intelligent to waste a spot on his dressed roster.

Dang. Thanks for providing that info.

First ever playoff series with my son... able to got 2 tickets for Game 3 (Kings' first home playoff game) from pre-sale... gotta cherish every single moment of this playoff.

Kings have the experience and defense, so I believe we will win this series. Kings in 6.

There are a lot of Reaves discussion here, and previously I was so into "eye for eye" tactics.. But this is playoff time.. it is all about discipline... if we have a better record against them we'd better play our hockey instead of letting them to get into our heads.
Since we don't have anybody that can match Reaves, then forget it.. stay discipline, play our hockey and move on.

Of course, if we have a Probert type player here, or even McSorley, that's another story.
If we don't have it, then don't fall into it.

Can one of you guys post a projected lineup of your team for the first series? Having a hard time knowing who is gonna fill out spots etc. Thanks guys. Good luck!

These were our lines at practice yesterday

Write this thing off if Fantenberg is playing. He will wilt against a playoff forecheck.

If he is in, I'd put him bottom pair for maybe 8 sheltered minutes a game and do a Chicago 2015 move with the defense. Doughty isn't going to be able to make up for his mistakes so let Doughty be better than a babysitter.

i went through fantenberg's stats this season, via corsica.hockey

he didn't play much with dd, total toi 43 min 5v5 (he played less only with macdermid and ladue).

what stands out is:
- their cf% (58.23) - fantenberg's 2nd best is with muzzin (52.38) and the rest is just sad
- their zone start ratio (72.41)!

that's a pretty offensive combo, but on the other hand, the pairing produced 0 gf and 2 ga.

if i understand correctly, it makes perfect sense to have this pairing at hand if needed. every extra minute they bond now could become important, but it does not predict the actual toi in the end.

how did you see the pair with a hockey eye, oscar & drew? does these stats make sense?

Yeah, if Fanta plays anything but #6, we're totally boned. And even then, sheltered #6 will get eaten in Vegas.

I don't get his game. He's ok defensively, but not big or physical enough to do anything against the wall. He'll stone guys in open ice and that's nice I guess. He's a good skater, but not a burner. He's ok offensively, but not a specialist by any means. And he's worthless at getting the puck out of our own zone and PMD'ing the puck up ice, which is the part I don't understand. KHL allstar, AHL/NHL tweener. I would rather have Doughty with Rob Scuderi at this point.

Their zone starts make sense but that's why their CF is acceptable. With those sorts of starts, you'd expect 65%+, those are Colin Miller minutes.

Eye test? Disaster. Think Muzzin-Martinez.

Stevens does use Doughty oddly though in that he plays with pretty much everyone at even strength. Wouldn't surprise me to see him start with Fantenberg, see shifts with Phaneuf and Martinez, and then then end the game if it's close with Phaneuf. Could just be a way of not having Phaneuf play 30 minutes and save some of those minutes for late in the game.

The Fantenberg eye test leads to the need for Lasik surgery.

He's the kind of player that wouldn't get a sniff in the "Old NHL" and has proven that he isn't very good in the "New NHL".

I mean, are we sure he isn't Kevin Dallman? I don't mean Dallman from when he played in the NHL but rather Dallman right at this moment.

thx. it sounds like another round of babysitting for drew, with stevens trying to pump up oscar. nothing wrong with that. as i said, their toi together is low, and with muzzin back it should stay low.
