If Reaves is going to hurt one of the Kings players, there is nothing to stop him from doing so. The issue would then be the Kings needing to match that response in a similar fashion.

Kings have no answer for Reaves in the physical department. If a game gets out of hand, hopefully someone can just engage in a hug fest with him and he gets thrown out.

Clifford has never beat him. Reaves actually turned Clifford into a punching bag by KO'ing him at Staples. Clifford hasn't been the same since and ducks Reaves every time.

Would not be surprised if Clifford winds up having to go with him during this series.

I hope not for Cliffords sake. I'd rather he went with Engeland. Where the mighty Dwighty when you need him?

We have no one who can take Reaves in a fight. So board him if you must. Or knee torpedo.

The only reason people are freaking out over Reaves is because he's a huge goon that none of our players can handle.

And he targeted Doughty In the regular season, I hope not but it's possible he tries to injure him Much more in the playoffs where the games actually matter.

LaDue Phaneuf could have some ugly matchups for LA. Although I think most with LaDue would.

Maybe, but theoretically the top matchups go to doughty, Muzzin, then Martinez, Folin, saving the 3rd/4th matchups for Phaneuf/LaDue

Dwight King did a great job there. Got the clown off the ice for 5 minutes and didn't get hurt himself.

Phaneuf may be the only King with enough size to duplicate that effort. It wouldn't be an even trade though, and Vegas would take that deal every time. The best way to combat a player like Reaves so to expose him as a liability on the ice during 5-on-5 play.

LAs PP needs to be deadly. That will be the biggest Reaves deterrent. Honestly, I doubt he is much of a factor either way.

Special teams are very important in the playoffs. I don't think any Kings should fight Reaves, and should clown him to take stupid penalties. Obviously, this creates the risk of getting our star players injured, but I think if we engage him we will lose the series because we will end up taking instigator penalties or lose fights, which will energize Vegas.

Why do some fans care about matching tough guy for tough guy, especially in the playoffs. It's something that I will never for the life of me understand.

As Ziggy said, Reaves was in the lineup for two previous series against the Kings, the Kings went 8-2 in those games and Reaves was terrible. He's literally the last player on the Knights that anyone should be worrying about.
Thank You. The Kings have always said they play hard whistle to whistle and dont worry about the scrums after that. Thats how they were effective in ‘12 and ‘14, and they will do it this year too. And I remember Reeves beat up Nolan in game 4 (?) of the STL series and shooshed the crowd. That was just a stupid display as you team is getting swept out of the playoffs. I expect him to do something equally as stupid this series.

I think that was Stewart.

Remember, Reaves was with the Blues in 2012 and 2013, and we saw how well that worked out for the Blues in both of those meetings against the Kings.

Those were way tougher versions of the Kings though and had no shortage of guys who could go and hold their own in a fight like King, Regehr, Mitchell, etc.

Yep. Only guys on the Kings that can hang with Reaves are on D and that's something they'll try to exploit. We have to do it by outplaying them. But Vegas isn't the Blues, they can skate--that's the only reason I'm even thinking about Reaves. They have no problem getting the puck up the ice and to a wall where he can kill someone. Remember the last game where he nearly murdered Kopi? That's why I worry.

Make him not a factor by outskating him, dodging him, making VGK pay.

I was thinking either one of Phaneuf of MacDermid (if he even plays). Reaves is a garbage player either way

Reading between the lines on LA Kings Insider, it sounds like Muzz should be good for game one:

"“I don’t even know, to be honest,” [Muzzin] said. “Practice today, no contact, it was good. I feel good. We’ll re-evaluate and go from there. That’s all I really have for you guys about that.”

Jake Muzzin, on whether rehabilitation was compressed due to the playoffs’ impending start date:

Not really. Once we clinched, it kind of took a load off that I’d have a certain amount of time before playoffs, so that was nice to see. But the way we rehab is if it’s ready, then it’s ready. I know it’s an important time, and you want to be playing. I’ve been bag skating, and it sucks. I’m ready to get out of here and start playing again, so we’ll see what tomorrow brings."

And Stevens seemed to be playing coy with some of the questions. That part of Sutter rubbed off a little on him, ey :) NHL injury reporting is always horrible, tho

"Really good chance" Iafallo plays; "not sure" on Muzzin; "no" on Forbort - LA Kings Insider

so since tickets here in Vegas are ridiculously overpriced, does anyone know of any good places that would have more kings fans than knights fans? I dont have cable so I've got to go somewhere to watch the game.

I commend Kurtis MacDermid on how far he's come...too bad he was just a bit shy on being what is needed at this level at the moment. Would love to see him pummel some Golden Knights and fight if needed. Him being RH helps as well.

Yeahhh I don't see any reason to fear Reaves. Look what happened last meeting between LA and Vegas. He pretty much won the game for the Kings.

If Reaves pulls any of his antics and tries to injure a Kings player, any Kings player, he needs to be swiftly taken care of. Can't let this ****ing clown run around and pull his usually nonsense. This is where I'm glad we have Phaneuf. Reaves is a clown that relies on clownshow behavior to turn the tables, make him pay.

Just don’t be stupid about it, discipline is paramount at this stage of the season. Phaneuf or whoever need to pick their spots. You know Gallant and Co. would trade off Phaneuf for Reaves all day long.

You know Reaves will be Reaves during this series, let him bury himself and hopefully in the process, cost Vegas at key points in this series that could potentially result in the Kings taking advantage.

I’m surprised at the fear here for Vegas.

My prediction is that the team that was on an incredible roll for the entire season will suddenly struggle when the importance of each game gets magnified. Vegas has been able to play loose all season. It won’t be the first time a team has trouble keeping that going when the slate is wiped clean and all the teams are suddenly on an even footing again.
