Without Ehlers in shape we got pretty much nothing but an alright goalie. That injury 1 month prior to the playoff hurt us bad.

If i was a player i wouldnt answer his questions either. Not after reading his articles following post game interviews. The guys an untrustworthy snake that twits words with his slithery scales to produce interesting stories.

Guaranteed. If Ken Weibe asks that question, you get an honest answer.

I would file a petition to remove Paul Freisen, but i gotta admit, having a villain in the press conference post games makes things more exciting.

Every story needs a Darth Vader.

LOL you are butt hurt that he writes negative articles about your 'never does anything wrong organization' TNSE.

We need reporters reporters that ask difficult questions from every one including organizations and people you are biased to.

Wheelers answer reflects the performance of the team. Obviously some people in the team see not issues with their performance. Screw a leader like him. The sooner he is gone from the team the better.

He would have given the same answer to another reporter asking his the same question. No need to defend Wheeler's answer by saying a different reporter would have gotten a different answer.

Habs got lucky beating the Leafs by injuring Tavares, and then using their political powers getting Scheifele kicked out of the series for a clean hit. Cowardly I tell you!

HaHa...keep dreaming if that makes you happy. Scheid played in game 1 and MTL streamrolled over the Jets in every way. Schief would not have made a difference at all in this series. MTL neutralized the Jets game plan.

Jets rolled over and died an embarrassing death. This team and anything remotely resembling the way they have played this year will *not* get the job done.

The Vegas series exposed us to Maurices inability to recognize, strategize and adjust. He was the weakest link then, he still is today. Same NZ play that caused us to be steamrolled by Vegas, got us steamrolled by the Habs. Easiest coach to play against in the playoffs.

Having said that, I dont expect coaching changes. The Jets want to win, but dont want to have to make the tough decisions needed to develop a culture of winning. Loyalty over accountability.

In our 9 years, we had a window of one year where there was so much talent, it was almost enough to overcome the pee wee level coaching ineptitude. We have a decent core, but it is being squandered too.

If you believe that all we can do, a cap team with our fwd group talent, is dump and chase, apply for a coaching job with the Jets. You will fit right in.

I've never seen a playoff team play so badly. That's not an exaggeration. Edmonton got swept, but the few talented players they had gave it their all and worked their asses off. We have a ton of talent that did absolutely nothing for 4 games. I can honestly say that the Moose would have put up more of a fight.

This team needs a reckoning.
Chevy gone.
Maurice gone.
Wheeler needs a reality check and that C ripped off his jersey
Forbort is not a top-4 defenseman
Beaulieu, Benn and Poolman are not NHL players.
I'm cool trading PLD again if anyone was dumb enough to give us full value
I wouldn't get rid of Chevy. We have the horses (other than a few depth defensemen that will be gone when young talent like Heinola, Samberg and Chisholm come up to the big team), we just need someone who knows how to use them.
I agree with your take on Beaulieu and Benn. Poolman, on a good team, would be a sixth defensemen or a depth defenceman. He has too big of a role with the Jets and gets exploited by the other teams sometimes.

Nope. They discussed this very thing tonight on the Kenny and Renny post game show with Hustler and all said these kind of responses from Wheeler and the Jets are standard from them and are borderline insulting to knowledgeable media and fans. It’s not just a Paul Friesen thing.

IIRC, the take was that it's the Helle Power of Positive Thinking mantra -- all say "We're good!" together, and you will be.

I get it, but maybe it isn't what fans want to hear after one of the game's most legendary choke jobs -- especially when many of those same fans will have spent the previous week laughing out loud at the Leafs' series loss while thinking nervously "Well, that won't happen to us...."

No. But after losses pplwho don't normally show up... Do and it makes it difficult.
There's nothing wrong - absolutely nothing - with intelligently criticizing one's team. How can someone call themselves a knowledgeable fan if they accept garbage? As long as you're also there for support during the trying times and pat themselves on the back during the good times.

After sweeping the Oilers, the exact team that stunk up the NHL during the last part of the regular season reappeared. We remember the big slump, right? It never left... we were just lucky enough to play the Oilers in the first round.

Let's be honest here... the Jets were owned by Staal, Perry and Armia, never mind the faster, younger guys. This wasn't a tough played series that went down to the wire. The only reason the Jets were in any of the games was because of Hellebuyck. They were outplayed and outshot in every game. Yes, we lost our best player for the series, but how did we allow Montreal to totally nullify Ehlers, Connor, Copp, Appleton and Wheeler? I'm waiting to hear about the injuries to Stastney and PLD because I assume they are severe.

While the Habs were lucky (and they were lucky in both series they played, due to injuries/suspensions to key Leafs and Jets), they also played a system for which the Jets had absolutely no answer for. The Jets were constantly beaten to loose pucks, they could rarely figure out a way to enter the Montreal zone, and Carey rarely had to make a big save. If it wasn't for Hellebuyck, this would have been a far more humiliating sweep than it already was.

The most frustrating thing is watching all the other teams in the playoffs playing balls-to-the-wall, inspired, intense, playoff hockey, and then watching this team take a collective dump all over the ice. Those other series have been so intense and entertaining with both teams bringing it every shift. These guys looked like they'd rather be fishing. Pathetic. Changes need to be made. Not just at the coaching level but maybe even at the leadership level.

What real Jet fan wouldn't be embarrassed by that? I don't want to hear any more crap about "real" fans don't criticize their team after a defeat. They deserve it. They NEED it.
I have no problem criticising the team if they deserve it, i do it too , but there are some that criticise the Jets all the time and never post when we play good. Not saying you do but there are some, @sipowicz gets a pass because of seniority and humor.

This is a mediocre team period.

Great goalie.

No 1 or 2 defenseman.

An overrated forward group with crappy 4th line plugs.

And I'm sorry but a terrible coach.

We shouldn't be surprised but somehow I am.

Please end this charade TNSE

It's been enough time with Maurice and Chevy, they both had a very good shot at it but a team can't play like they did this series and think you don't need a big change. I like Maurice and Chevy but the team looked like they didn't really care out there and that's on the coach. And Chevy hasn't gotten the defense right since Buff quit . Hope they figure it out for next season.

I don't think Chevy has to go yet. We will never get players to waive their NT clauses to come to Winnipeg so we have to rely mostly on draft picks . My issue is Maurice hasn't used the best squad Chavy has made available to him. Heinola, Samberg, Niku etc. Niku was AHL defenceman of the year..give him an extended run and see if he is in the long term plans, he might or might not pan out. So many young players were played one game and yanked out in favor of really bad vets.

I don't recall the name but there was a d-man from Vegas that was available for cheap picks due to cap crunch in Vegas, Chevy went for him but Wpg was in his No Trade list and he refused to waive it and went to Vancouver. Some posters here are posting like we can get our pick of d-men anytime we want and we are not getting them because Chevy is not trying.
